General / Off-Topic Ability to "like" a specific post.

First off, I'm new to this forum so please forgive me if I'm covering something that has already been addressed.
I've frequented a few boards that have a "like" option on individual posts. I though this would prove useful instead of adding a somewhat redundant addtional post to a thread, when I could just "like" a statement that I agree with.
Or am I missing something? Is there an equivalent that I just missed?

icon at the top right of their post(s). :)
