About that double-engineered FSD reward for the CG...

Is it plausible that only the Trade CG one has been issued?

I just jumped on to check, having only done top 10% in the AX CG, and it's not there.

That is a good observation. I may have struck the alarmist tone too soon and without all the facts. Forgive me, I'm American and that I'm afraid defines the time.

Experimental fitted... confirming the 1,856.4 tons

Thanks for confirming! In my opinion, it's quite disappointing that Frontier did ultimately go down this road and chose not to say anything about future availability yet.
Oh well. Hail to the DBX as the new king of jump range! ...but only for the two five thousand players who were lucky enough to be able to get one. (Before anybody mentions sour grapes: I did get one as well.)

Well, might as well ask the question again: @Arthur Tolmie , @Bruce Garrido , will similar FSDs be obtainable by everyone in the future?

Update: saw only after posting this that Fronteir gave the reward for the top 75%, as was asked in this thread. Thank you! The question still stands, of course, but at least it's not just two thousand then. Instead, it's five thousand.

Was it known before CG or during CG that the reward FSD was gonna be that good?

Not sure whether I should blame fdev or myself for not trying to get one. :D

On the LS on Tues they talked about game balancing and pretty sure they mentioned these unique modules or mixed it in somehow and repeated 'Everything we do is for a reason', so Im just gonna wait and see now, probably gather all the modules on the way so Ive got them either way, but giving up asking and waiting and seeing instead.

Is it? I get maximum 82.34 LY for a DBX concurring with @Numenor1379's build, but still get 83.62 LY for an Anaconda with a conventional 6A FSD.
The DBX only being able to fit a size 4 Guardian booster still keeps it slightly slower.

(Might be slightly faster in the long run due to higher supercruise agility, though the low scoop size will also get it there ... the Phantom which can do agility and scooping is at 80.51 max, I think. It'd be interesting to see which of the three actually does end up fastest now)

My DBX doesnt have the space for what I need so the Conda will always be for proper explo for me.

but it will enhance the AspX or the DBX for the smaller outings or just for getting around. Not a game changer just a tiny QOL improvement.

Sure min-maxers will break it somehow and get some impossible range, I hope so anyway :)

I'm not sure dropping to 75% is the right move after a CG has completed
are there more CMDR's that didn't get involved because of that 25% over the difference between 25% & 75%?

My take away of feedback given prior to this change being announced fell largely along the lines that a community goal should be a cooperative event and not a competitive event. Offering it to a larger proportion of people who participated while under the impression they were unlikely to get the reward seems fair. It rewards community spirit for CMDRs that contributed for the sake of contributing.

I don't see the same merit in CMDRs that chose not to participate from the start because the threshold was too high. I hope Frontier doesn't entertain calls for a mulligan.

it's a very good point
all I can say to this is if they give a prize to the top xx% it will always be a competitive event and there will always be a loser, if it truly was in the spirit of cooperative/community goal everybody should have the ability to claim that prize not the top performers

set a minimum contribution limit (which can still be steep) and give everyone the chance of getting it

This is true particularly in light of the brief length of the CG, which I think took a lot of folks by surprise. It's pretty obvious that particpants in the upper accomplishment segments were driving the entire CG progress so fiercely while those in the lower were generally just pushing more into the higher % range, meaning their efforts benefited others more than themselves. Expanding the bonus threshold seems a way to recognize this effort.
