Not really much else to add, however recently i have been giving them a good seeing to after not really dabbling with them much since launch.
They are great fun and I can imagine there is a lot of stuff Frontier can do with them which i hope to see in the future
(jail breaks with high speed chases to our ships - a bit like the amazing smugglers run on the ps2 era springs to mind).
I will certainly be doing a lot more of them, and they pay fairly well too (1.3 million for a fairly easy raid on a low sec base for instance)
Just been doing some for the first time as a focus today and must say I'm loving it too. Had one that ended up costing me an SRV (but mission accomplished). I had to get into a heavily fortified aria and knock down a specific generator. The place was protected by an Elite FAS among other things. I got in and out as fast as I could but the FAS that was dropping some serious fire near me was joined by something nimbler (too busy running to look closely) that was peppering me with rapid fire lazers (bursts is my guess). I ended up bumping into a rock and being turned awkwardly on my backside. By the time I righted myself up again it was all over and they finished off the srv. Actually, that was the one criticism. The SRV behaves more like a VR controlled drone in that regard because once it's destroyed I have the option of continuing on in my ship from nearby orbit and when I dock all I need is a "resupply". Not even a fitting station. I'm ok with it being a drone of sorts but the game should reflect this. Perhaps your ship can auto return to nearest available friendly dock while you end up in a sidewinder at your last port of call? Either way it's made me a lot "braver" as I know all I have to do is accomplish the goal and carry on (regardless of whether the SRV survives). I guess now I see the benefit also in having a bay large enough for two SRVs, if I were going somewhere far from any stations with a resupply option.
Anyway, also loving it. May post some pics later
