Ace Combat 7 has Battle Royale...

I just watched the story trailer yesterday and I look forward to it. Multiplayer aspect never interested me much.
It looks great. If it has a childrens' mode in it, I don't mind. Will simply ignore it. :)

The only thing that bugs me is that I'm on PC. Therefore will have to wait till Feb. Boo. :D

Or... Erm... Go for a proper flight sim, like DCS? If you got a PC... Why wait, when there is already a brilliant option?

Does look kinda fun as "just jump in and fly" type thing though.

Z...

That's why I don't play it for the 'planes.

Combat is good, but anyone who thinks it's realistic should take some time to read a book.

That's the problem. In the time needed to get started with DCS I can probably finish the entire campaign in Ace Combat.

It's not really a fair comparison to be honest. Both games are about flying airplanes(in case of DCS helicopters too), but that's where similarities end really.
Yes it takes ages to get into DCS, especially if you have one of the more detailed plane models that are replicated with obsessive attention to details. And people love that. On the other hand, AC is like COD with planes as I've described it before. Which is fine too, because quite frankly on some evenings I wouldn't be bothered to spend 20 minutes on preflight checks :)

The Ace Combat series has always been Need for Speed in the sky. It doesn't need to to be anything else and it can't be more advanced either considering it's on consoles first and foremost.

Sure, that's what I wanted to say. I didn't make the comparison, just saying that DCS isn't really an alternative.

It's good at what it does. I would never compare to a real sim'.

Music is unbeaten though. My goodness is the Ace Combat OST a work of art.

I've watched a bunch of AC7 videos on YouTube but apart from the graphics I don't see much reason to buy it.
Last week I just got access to AC6 on the Xbox through backwards compatibility, I still have it from my 360 days and it looks and plays well enough for me.
As for comparing Ace Combat to DCS that's like comparing a Bumper car to a Formula One car, I like shoot'n and scoot'n once in a while, I don't want to turn switches and knobs for fifteen minutes before I can even taxi the darn plane.

Update for guys waiting to play on PC.

It's been confirmed that the only HOTAS that will work on PC are the T.flight HOTAS units.

Your high-end Virpils, Warthogs, X-50s and such will not be supported.

Well that just sucks.
