Hmm....

Imagine getting Hyperdicted by a weird Alien Ship (not Thargoid) - only to hear "CPU Compromised", followed by Silence. And now seeing an Alien HUD slowly taking over Onboard Computer Systems
(good luck getting home on a hacked Alien HUD, UI and Navigation... and then find an Engineer to at least halfway fix the damn thing again )

Could be just a coincidence. The artist was told what to do and stuck with the first idea that came - usually the first idea for anything creative is something that was already there...as the corporation has nothing to do with computer security. Or the exploding skimmers are a jab at Eset, who knows.

Would be more scary if interdiction went all silent. You jump, encounter some weird radio transmission... and that's it. You give command for FSD to spool up just to hear:

"I'm sorry Dave, I cannot do that"

said in calm male computer voice...
