So ... am I missing something here?

One of my Power's induction tasks is to deliver rares to an Acquisition system. No problem, bought a bunch of rares ... every system in range of a Fortified/Stronghold system appears to either already be Exploited by my power, or held by someone else. Delivering them to an out-of-range one (understandably!) doesn't work.

Has anyone else been able to complete Acquisition tasks, and if so, do you have any hints?

(Obviously once things have shaken up in future weeks this should all be fine)

I just delivered to a local system like this:

and it worked - the terminology was confusing to me as well.

Checking the Galaxy Map, maybe Nakato Kaine, being a new Power, was initially seeded in the game by automatically acquiring everything she could around the fortified/stronghold systems picked for her already by PP2 logic (20/30 ly) instead of following old PP1 logic (15 ly spheres). If that's the case then completing the assignment is impossible for her pledges in this first week.

Thanks, it did work. My initial confusion came from using the galaxy map filter. If you tell it to show only acquisition systems, it hides the unoccupied systems. But, at least for the purpose of getting your initial "sell rare goods" task done, unoccupied counts as (maybe potential?) acquisition. So I sold my lavian brandy in one of the systems marked as unoccupied and immediately jumped to PP rank 2.

For a while, I am going to be VERY confused with this fancy new power play thingie.

Interesting - would you mind telling me which one, please? I tried one of the unoccupied systems and got no merits nor rank.
(I was using Leesti Blue Milk but surely that can't make a difference!)

I sold my lavian brandy at Morgan Orbital in Belacabunda. I chose it randomly but went for a highish population system. And of course that station is 320k out ;). Praise the SCO.

I am not sure, but I chose one nearish the fortress system for lavigny and it counted. There was a wee bit of purple in unoccupied system's bar. So maybe an acquisition system has to be one that is at least a wee bit on its way to being acquired.
As to a map filter. I specifically looked for a checkbox for acquisition systems. It wasn't there.

Sorry guys, new to PP and thought I would give it a go for once, and the same thing - even after reading through this thread I'm at the first hurdle and need to find an "Acquisition" system. Despite what the game says, I gather I need to filter the map to "Unoccupied", "Stronghold" and "Fortified", and the unoccupied around the stronghold and fortified should be the ones...

But they all say the same thing, some of the adjacent unoccupied are highlighted with a little orange mark when I mouse over the Stronghold or Fortified systems, but they still say:
"Gain control of a nearby system and reinforce it to Fortified or Stronghold to be able to aquire this system".

Is this just really obtuse, or am I blind/thick/both?

There is a secondary tab in the left menu bar of Powerplay, where you can choose your Power and filter Acquisition systems. Did you try any of these? That's how I delivered mine (Pranav).
