General Active Support Role

I usually prefer playing support in games, in Elite Dangerous there are features that can be considered as support such as the shield healing lasers as well as being able to repair and refuel others, but two big pieces of the puzzle are still missing, especially when fighting in distant systems that lack the luxury of nearby Station:

* Being able to rearm others! I know this has been raised several times before, it's crucial in a game where you have to sacrifice your game time (which for some of us is limited) to get from one place to another, let alone doing it to rearm!

* A dedicated support-role ship: the most reasonable ship that fits the purpose so far is the T7, it's agile enough not to make playing the role a pain, spacious enough to hold what you have available for a support role (not even all of it), this includes a Fuel Transfer Limpet Controller, a Collector Limpet Controller (becuz as a support player I enjoy collecting stuff in the battle field from destroyed ships while repairing wing mates), a Repair Limpet Controller, an extra Fuel Tank, and three Cargo Racks to hold all the limpets, include the need for a shield generator, not to mention a Decontamination Limpet Controller and a Research Limpet Controller (I never needed to use them as I am yet to get into fighting Thargoids)

If an Ammo Transfer Limpet gets introduced to the game (which literally everyone is begging for!) this introduces the need for extra cargo racks and an extra slot for the Ammo Transfer Limpet, no ship can efficiently support all of the above while still being enjoyable.

I, like many others I'm sure, am hoping for a dedicated support vessel that has limited combat abilities but lots of mid-size optional internal compartments to hold all of the above, in other Space Sim such a ship is normally big and bulky and even ugly, designed to serve only one purpose, eliminating the need for a wing to travel light years for fuel, repairs and ammo.
 
A big, bulky and ugly support ship. Perhaps even one on which other ships could land? Now what on earth would we call such a thing....
 
Would be fun chasing team mates in a carrier to give them shield heals, super fun.
But you can already do that; I believe the expression is "healies for feelies" AKA using the Regeneration Sequence Experimental Effect on lasers.

An active support role would require jumping into combat to heal others, something near impossible in a slow ship like a carrier, assuming FDev's version of the carrier allows that in the first place.

IRL carriers are some of the fastest ships on the water. This is because of the massive amounts of power and thrust they can carry by comparison.
 
I think it would be cool if certain ships similar to those that have built in military compartments would have built in support compartments. Magazines with ammo restock via limpets etc stuff like that. Maybe these ships could fit special universal limpet controllers in support slots.

I'm sure fleet carriers will be able to provide at least on site station style restock which is something.

I was talking about an active (in-combat) support, I don't think FDev's version of a carrier will allow fitting limpets to collect components after a fight and shield healing lasers, or even jumping into SC to land in combat site.
