Dinosaurs Add the "medium-size carnivores" class

Idea : have a 3rd class of dinosaurs : medium-size

Hello guys,
I played at the new update and I tried to make big carnivores and armoured herbivores live together.
I was thinking about which dinosaurs could live together and then I was asking myself : "How the majungasaurus or the ceratosaurus could kill some triceratops so easely like a T-rex ?" I mean, why these carnivores are in the same class whereas the herbivores have 4 different classes ?

My wish is pretty simple and I don't think it's difficult to make :
Add in a medium carnivore class Ceratosaurus, Majungasaurus and Metriacanthosaurus.
These carnivores will not attack the armoured herbivores.

I think it could be a great thing to make the game even more realistic and with that we will be able to make enclosures with more carnivores/herbivores cohabitation.

Thank you for your attention and sorry for my bad English, I'm French

I agree with this. Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis also functioned this way, having small, medium and large carnivores. I think the omission of medium sized animal classes is a little odd when it comes to things like the cerato and carno being grouped with things atleast twice their size, but as you suggest, this can have added functionality to prevent animals in this class from attacking defensive creatures like most ceratopsids, ankylosaurids and stegosaurids.

This is made particularly egregious when you consider the scientific evidence that the Carno was the cheetah of dinosaurs. It was built entirely for speed, from it's skeletal and muscular structure, to even bone density to make it lighter. This is not an animal that would risk fighting a dangerous, heavy target, it would try and chase down small prey or at most, injure things like hadrosaurs and wait for them to die of shock and blood-loss. It should never be seen fighting any of the above animals.

Wholly support this, rating it up!

Agreeing with the idea, but what do we do with Allosaurus, Baryonyx and Carnotaurus? They are also considered medium carnivores because of their size and neither are they trained to kill a Triceratops or an Ankylosaurus.

I believe medium carnivores should cover Ceratosaurus, Carnotaurus, Metriacanthosaurus, Majungasaurus, Baryonyx, and suchomimus. If an Albertosaurus is added later, that too. I can't really give a solid opinion on the allosaurus tho, it's a fairly large theropod, though smaller than a rex, however that is.. not how this game portrays it. I dont necessarily dislike the current size of the allo, but it does put it in an awkward position in terms of this question. Technically allosaurae were very smart and used pack hunting to overcome prey like young diplodocus, so its somewhat feasible it could try and figure out a way to deal with a defensive animal. Basically it would either have to be resized, which i dont necessarily like as it is beautiful and scary in this size, or it would have to be classified as a large carnivore. I personally believe it classifies closer to a large carnivore and by doing that also adds a bit of diversity where otherwise there is only the giga, rex and spino.

Might I suggest that half the problem, and the reason for there NEEDING to be medium carnivores, is because currently they always fight to the death? To me it seems like a sensible fix would be for many of the carnivores listed to back away from the fight if they drop below 50% health. Then through your genetic editing, you can make sure your armoured herbivores are tough as nails compared to the carnivores, so they can win the fights without anyone necessarily dying?

Suggestions of medium carnivores

It would be great to add new species of dinosaurs such as Megalosaurus, Abelisaurus, Tarascosaurus, Rugops, Ekrixinatosaurus, Rajasaurus, Indosuchus and Magnosaurus

The carnivore class definitely needs to be less binary. Carnotaurus, Ceratosarus, Metricanthosaurus are all medium sized carnivores. Not only should they not be killing Ceratopsians and Ankylosaurids but they shouldn't be squaring up against Rexes, Spinos and Giga's. I'm looking forward to the day this gets rectified.

Yes, I agree and I will open a thread about this.

I agree with this idea. In JP the Ceratosaurus avoided the Spino's territory. I think this could be included into the game in a similar fashion as the large and small carnivors with perhaps one change to the system. If a larger carnivore is hungry, then it should be able to force the confrontation with the smaller carnivore as a way to fill its hunger need (mitigated by preferring to hunt something that doesn't fight back)
