Advanced Docking Computer damaging my ship

Excuse me if this has been addressed before, but i've noticed recently that in my larger ships such as my Type-9 Heavy and my Imperial Cutter that when I engage auto-dock on larger stations the computer sets my course too low. The bottom of my ship always hits the mail slot, usually slowing me down and on some occasions (particularly in my Cutter) I almost come to a complete stop in the slot.

Is anything going to be done to address this? Is it an issue client side or with the game? I never have this problem with my smaller ships. This screenshot (albeit not a great one) shows the bottom of my Type-9 colliding with the mail slot on entry

It's because you're a cheapskate. Spend some money and time to get decent thrusters.

What I do, and have been doing since Day Dot,

is to go threw the Mail Slot manually the once in, zero throttle and let the DC take over.

Yeah semi-manual docking, I know I know, just can't be bothered about the final landing.

The Takeoff procedure is a tad clumsy, knocking into columns.
But that another story for another day.🕵️

Nothing to worry about.

Throughout its entire existence, the Docking Computer has - not once ! - worked 100%. Not once, not even for a single day throughout its 5 years of service.
That behavior is now integral part of the Game and everyone knows it ;)

PS.
And yes, it loves scraping the bottom mailslot in a Type-9 - just as it can get a Beluga stuck on the way out.

Submit a bug report's all you can really do. Don't let the "git gud" people bother you. I can fly anything, but sometimes I like to use the ADC, too, especially leaving the station, because my Anaconda brings all the Belugas to the yard and they're like "we'll hit you going through the toaster."

Doesn't rhyme, but it's frustrating as hell.

Thats how it should be :) if everyone did that there would be fewer complaints about gweeferz
Got to disagree, having a good shield is one thing (for me mandatory, normally the appropriate size Bi-Weave and engineered to G5 Re-enforced with a suitable experimental effect) but that won't stop a griefer or ganker ripping that shield to pieces in seconds. It just delays the inevitable by a handful of seconds. That is if the griefer or ganker is any good and is fitted out in the standard PvP meta.
