Advanced docking computer should be built in on large ships.

Instead of an optional module, the Advanced docking computer should be built in on large ships (type 9 heavy, clipper, cutter, etc), and possibly the courier due to it's luxurious nature. SImple and boring. :D

the on board computer should be able to dock with a station

The onboard computer is already able to take off and land on planets without any external guidance. That should make docking and launching to/from a station en even easier job since a station can provide ILS signaling.

If you still need an Advanced DC by the time you can afford a Large ship, you still shouldn't be flying one....

There's always one 🙄 I have a docking computer (standard) on my T-9. Not because I can't dock it manually, the T-9 is really easy to dock, but just because when I'm flying 5 minute A >B>A trading runs which is what I use it for, I just can't be arxed docking the cow manually about 12 times in an hour.

That said, yes the larger ships did only get one additional slot but that's because they already have loads of slots. Really, if someone flying Anacondas, T-9s and Cutters want a docking computer that badly, they just need to work out what other wholly unnecessary piece of gear they want to swap out for it. I get that some people just want a lolship with everything but I can't see it ever happening and I think that's a good thing.

I got a Corvette and I use a docking computer all the time. The great for when you need to go to the bathroom or don't feel like piloting for a minute or two While you check on a mission or on a stat or whatever else.

Get outa here with that nonsense..

@Broken_One - Manual toggle only applies to SCA Auto-throttle toggle. DC & ADC always has a manual override, the last update even allows you to use autolaunch/dock with FA-OFF switched off.

I'd make the ADC built-in on all ships, and also make it compulsory to use to use it in large stations in High Security systems and wholly inoperative in all stations in Anarchy systems. That being said, were it really up to me then this would only be meaningful as part of a much larger set of changes to smuggling and other gameplay, not a stand-alone item - but were built-in ADC a standalone change then if nothing else the subsequent inability to tell whether someone uses it or not if the option is open to them would put a big dent in the practice of twats killing other players simply for having a DC or ADC.

I don't use one myself, haven't in years and likely never will again, but I find the hate of it distasteful and I reserve the right to use one whenever I judge fit.

Not need, want.

LOL, yup.

exactly my reason for using it.

ADC is especially helpful in vr when i can switch to PC desktop view, pull up miner tool or whatever elite tool i need to use for my next mission while my ship auto docks/launches.

I am a King, how dare those people suggest that I have to involve myself in the grubby task of landing and taking off. It is perfectly correct that I have valet parking. I spent long enough debasing myself as part of the lower orders landing my ships myself. Now I am a person of means such, things are beneath me.

You do realize commercial jets are flown and landed by auto-pilot?
I guess those giant commercial jet-liner pilots aren't "real pilots". Go say that to their face.
