Advanced Plasma Accelerator ruined - FDev why silent nerf, why you just want to suck the joy out of everything???

Thought the nerf was exaggerated.
Suspect its nearly useless now. Will test more.

Damn it Frontier. It's not like this thing was amazing to start with.

Well it was kind of ridiculous that the advanced plasma accelerator did 60 dps. But I agree it was never a particularly strong weapon and easily countered.

I have quite a few APA on my ships. I havent tested them since the ninja nerf. But it was a tough call to choose between regular and advanced anyway.

The heat and ditributor load was significant! To the point that it was hard to see the benefit given the damage they did per shot. If after testing this weapon is realy as slow and rubbish as is being made out.. i will be anoyed and after being alied with paterus for what must be getting on for a year forsaking all others for the redy accecc to the APA as i switch between them as im never shure if its a good idea on some ships... i will leave him and i wont miss all the interdictions and hassel that went with it!

They could have atleast given us garde 3 and up mods before they did this. I feel like plasma and beam users have realy been given the raw end of the stick so far with the engeneers. Its been pulse and mulit for so long and i love to be different even if its to my detriment but since the engeneers droped im back to boring pulse and multi cus the rest dont cut it on the field now, no matter how much finess you use..

When i get back to my home system i will give them a test... i cant take a video but i will put up a review..

So they lowered the fire rate? Aww I was hoping to see how fast it could have shot with a rapid fire mod on top.

its the Damage of APA now increase even the rate of fire was lowered or just the modification was for lower de RoF?

This makes me quite sad.. this was one of my fav weapons. But stopped using my FAS after the mega nerf to armor after 2.1.

Its bad enough you get forced to hide behind a shield.. and now this..

They might have nerfed it in prep for all of the engineers being unlocked (and all level 5 weapon specializations?). They might have found that in testing they were broken towards the higher tiers.

Yes, MC's are currently OP - but that's mainly due to being the only ones with level 5 weapon mods.

So, before the update it was hard to decide and fight for get that weapom because it did 2/5 parts of damage at x3 RoF,fair enough, just a little more signature expensive and distributor draw but the final damage was like 0,4 better, now it has the Rof ok a PA x1,5
But does still 2/5 part of a normal PA damage? Thats absurd.... Please fdev fix this     ... Its like the shadow of what it was before, why you bring us updates that leaves to a nonsense of players enforts???

one of the many arguments against always online was that we will be forced to to endure the endless, release - forum cries - nerf cycle

people said it will not happen and that elite is not this type of game

heh

What has this got to do with being always online? And if it didnt work this way we would just have a broken boring game where every one just used the same ''best'' equipment. The game is always online so the galaxy can change and the story can grow dynamically based on our actions. If you cant ''endure'' the forum cries how ever do you cope with... well... anything!

Yeah, this nerf broke the FAS for me. (I use two of those APAC). Which is a bit sad as I was really
looking forward to engie the FAS, but as it stands, there is no point.

I never felt it was OP or anything, just a lot of fun and a bit more flexible than regular PA's.

I just hope FD reads this and put them back to "normal" in 2.2.

Only Laser and Multicannons. Nothing else is allowed. That's why they added ridiculous huge multicannons and beam lasers, so that every ship, from smallest to largest, would be the same.

I do understand why FDev were concerned by the prospect of a barrage of specials from a heavily modded APA but the limiting factor was always the colossal distributor draw and, to some extent, heat. One APA empties a size 8 distro quickly enough, let alone two or more.

Even allowing for efficiency modding, the stealth nerf seemed severe and might have benefited from pre-announcement and Beta testing.

I have said several times that I hope this re-balance will be re-considered and at least partially amended. As it is, Patreus pledgers are effectively left without a Powerplay module.
