Another hair braided idea from CMDR Cosmic Spacehead.
Today's silly idea is Advanced Systems Management.
Basically, as an option, you get to faff with stuff!
Al this is done via the modules tab, under new menu options for each module.
Most of these options are also available for multicrew, but can be locked.
Let's begin.
Power Plant
Yes, you can mess with it! You can manually reduce the output to save on power, and test you power priorities, before going in to combat and realising it's all very wrong.
Divert Power: With this option, you can opt to reduce power from one module, and divert that to another. The "donor" module with take a massive hit to its stats, and the recipient will gain a moderate buff. For example, you can opt to divert power from shields, to engines. The amount of increase you gain is based on how many extra MW you are able to provide he recipient module. It would need careful balancing, and some modules would not be capable of this.
Shields
Lower/Raise: You can lower and raise your shields from here. Lowered shields consume about half their normal power, but do not regenerate, but are obviously not going to defend you against anything.
Lowered shields can be raised very quickly. Not particularly useful for anything other than being able to shout "raise shields!", and other roleplay. Lol
Shield Shunting: Now you can adjust where all your energy goes! You have 6 sections in which to distribute power. Front, Rear, Port, Starboard, Top, Bottom.
Thrusters
Adjust Power To Main, Reverse, Lateral Thrusters. Much like shield shunting, you can assign more power various thrusters. Each thruster has its own value you can mess with. Make your ship faster, or more agile, etc.
Weapons
Reload Magazine: Simply a manual reload from available ammo reserves.
Set Fire Sequence: Similar to firegroups, you can assign whether weapons fire all together, or in sequence with other weapons in the same firegroup.
