Advice on Python

Okay, so taking into all of the above comments and ideas looking at the builds this is what I've come up with.

I have still got to sort out the weapons but this will atleast give me a fighting chance to defence myself and go find some engineering mats (I hope)
let me know your thoughts, good and bad, it's all welcome [yesnod]

your build will get much too heavy - the python isn't the most manouverable ship, it pays off to keep it around 50% optimal thruster mass.

on something like a python youre not going to notice any loss in maneuverability if youre a bit heavier than usual. besides, any loss you might get due to being fat you can just mod out with dirty drives.

pythons are the best medium class ship for combat. they're basically miniature anacondas, and now that pythons can have 800+ mjs and a ton of cell banks, just like 1.4, they super tanky, and actually even tankier than in 1.4 due to reinforced shields giving resistances. none of the other medium class ships can compete, outside of hammer fdls.

On my Python I use the biggest shield generator and 4 shield boosters. All pips to shields as soon as I get attacked. When turning, put the throttle into reverse that way you don't turn in a simple circle. Easier to turn towards the enemy. I use two medium pulse lasers and three large multi-cannons, quite efficient at destroying ships.
