Aegis or Salvation: Who do you side with?

I know next to nothing about salvation, though the name raises red flags.
I do know Aegis just sort of gave up early on in the fight against the thargoids. Rested on their laurels?

I always wondered if Salvation was a Guardian AI, or even a human one.

This has lots of potential, as bring back Rogue AIs as an enemy you could find even in Deep Space making exploration more "spicy" opening room for combat encounters far from the bubble and finding nice things and adventure beyond scanning rocks and have a little walk on planets taking selfies.

Well FD *might have given us a clue to Salvations ID when they did a word scramble with was the cyborg engineer, Zach Nemo- he could be carrying the Guardian AI in his head.

Salvation: Updates weapons that look cool and are cool to use but suck massive hairy ones into weapons that are actually usable in combat. (and not just Thargoid combat, either)

Aegis: Releases a bunch of crap that is inferior to guardian options and cannot be used outside Thargoid combat.

Going just on what it’s possible to witness in person, in game - both are pretty shoddy…?

System AX forces seem to do the bulk of the work? In terms of sheer numbers of scouts killed, with cmdrs absent from CZs.

They’re not great at killing interceptors; I think it’s technically possible for them to kill a cyclops, but, sheer numbers of scouts have to count for something. If we actually cashed up combat bonds, system ax would definitely win.

I guess technically Aegis must be resupplying AX weapons, but they’re not really evident in the actual fighting.

Salvation cleared three systems, big deal. So much fuss, such drama. I’m with the grizzled grunts on the front line personally.

A few cmdrs can definitely tip the balance at the top end; cyclops in particular can be farmed semi-easily, and especially at basilisk and higher the combat bond amounts get respectable. But still, a few yahoos in chieftains won’t win a war of extermination fought between species.

We can do without both salvation and aegis. Trust the AXMC wielding Viper jockey.

Aegis escalated the war plenty on their own, and it is not fact that Salvation was behind the attack on the Alexandria. He needs to be investigated regardless.

The only fact here is the destruction of the Alexandria. Everything else you've stated is speculation.

I'm curious why you think Salvation is a member? He sent us players to collect the data and run missions. If he were a member why not just use their own assets to retrieve them? I could definitely see some speculation that he defected; but I would think that would make him more of a good guy. The witch is also a feminine codename and Salvation had made it clear on multiple occasions that he is male.

Ex-Azimuth is my current guess as well, though I wouldn't say that makes him a good guy.
