After Beyond, FD's priorities will change...

 No-one on the forum knows how FD intend selling future content, or even if they'll charge at all.

Some of the most profitable on line games are free to play, with micro transactions paying the bills. FD may be able to make the game work just on the things we buy in the store.

On the other hand, they charged us for a season pass once and that seems to have kept the game and company healthy. Something similar might be on the cards next.

And on the other, other hand (if you're a Motie! ;)) paid DLC is popular with numerous companies and titles. If it looks like it'll make money, FD may go down that route.

I'm fine with any of them, to be perfectly honest. Whatever keeps the servers up and development ongoing is good by me. The game download is crazy cheap in the store right now, which I think is a really good idea. FD should be shouting from the rafters about it; what a great stocking filler for your friends and family and what a great wee bargain buy for the kids to spend their Christmas money on. As usual though, FD have completely dropped the ball on communicating what's actually going on.

Now that, far more than monetising the game or patching the product, is my real worry. Ambivalence will kill a video game stone dead! They really ought to sort their customer relations out...

Im not even going to tell the story beihnd it, all im gonna say is that the idiotic crime and punishment system has just badly cheated me and locked me out of playing for a minimum of 2x50 minutes. Idiotic.... and then i hear about giving them more of my money and i laugh.

I hope the next update is paid for and does really well. Only then will Elite continue to be worked on, you can't invest years of work on free updates.

No, I'm not an LTP owner and yes, I'll buy any update FD comes up with.

After what they did with 2.1 and massive plethora of bugs and imbalances that continue to build upon the game's foundation, I'm not sure I'll be sending any more money their way. They had two whole years to fix basic issues but screwed off and made more instead.
