Age of Aquarius (a little jaunt)

OK so I am an explorer noob.

Not done a passenger mission even, or got the 5k ly Palin unlock. So very wary posting this in this thread (but given the great pics in the Screenies thread on Discussions board, ain't posting these ones there as that just brings out the non-hi res low laptop settings of them and amateur composition.

But here is the thing. Love the game, my son got it for me Feb16, my being of the '84 BBC B vintage. Didn't realise about the Stellar Forge, so was gob smacked when, on a whim, I bookmarked the stars in the Aquarius star sign (as 3303 is officially in the Age of Aquarius, and I am aquarian), went to Hutton Orbital (have no Sol permit, its next best thing so to speak) and they lined up exactly. So I set myself the goal (because it's there) of flying that route - and so in Feb17 I started, and a couple of weeks ago finished (causal player, one CG break and one Protect-ish Salami break). As haven't done much exploring, set myself the goal of landing on every landable/station/outpost, detailed scanning every planet/sun/moon in the 21 systems.

Lots of firsts for me. First "first discovered" (5 or 6 of them) that now have my name on them (even though just 600-800ly from Sol). First time wrote off an SRV. First time using/failing with the new camera thingy. First "scan for Habitation" on a planet. First white Dwarf FSD boost, just for fun if it (and for the extra repair bill). First sun inside a planetary ring piccie. First go at data raiding low/med security bases. First go at getting blown up by a high sec system cos hadn't checked on what is public and what was private. OK, not that impressive objectively; but subjectively I was impressed. Just love being a space pilot, and it made me sit back and appreciate the wonderful things out there as opposed to just fixating on credits and advancements and tasks.

Took lots of screen shots, and have a small selection of them, below (have a larger number on a rolling slide show as my background screen at work).

My route took me (from starting at Hutton), to
(1) Albali
umKh2rEl.jpg
and the start of the arms/torso
(2) Albulaan

(3) Sadalsuud then (4) Sadalmelek

(5) Ancha

(6) Sigma Aqr
6kYqrI6l.jpg
back to (4) to start the Jar,
(7) Sadalachbia (where they look like they sell very big gobstoppers)
bm0erSyl.jpg
(8) Sadaltager then (9) Seat
Qh6P73Il.jpg
back to (8) then (10) Hydria (not "Hiel Hydra"),
Y8tmEfWl.jpg
and the start of the pouring water
(11) Hydor (not from Game of Thrones...) with a Guardian Angel watching over me (OK, OK, I know from the help from these forums, it's a witch...)
33XOfoOl.jpg
(12) Tau 1 Aqr
Hfogtbel.jpg
(13) Skat - not all things in space are Biege
6S9WAbjl.jpg
(14) 88 Aqr then (15) 99 Aqr
Q8iie7bl.jpg
(16) 104 Aqr where Moon's play peekaboo
f6kjur4l.jpg
(17) Omega 1 Aqr (disappointed didn't encounter any Time Lords)

(18) Psi 3 Aqr then (19) Psi 2 Aqr
8nZvhzml.jpg
(20) Psi 1 Aqr then (21) Phi Aqr
oClfVu2l.jpg
and back to (10) to complete the tracing out of the star sign. Then home. Shame cashing in didn't coincide with an exploration CG!

Got the bug for going further out now; or maybe next year the entire Zodiac;

You might find my constellation list (link in signature) useful.

(By coincidence I'm about half way through Aquarius and only updating it very slowly as there's an awful lot of stars to check, but you can generally search by the listed HIP and HD numbers to find anything.)

Wowise that's a lot of detail! Mine was a simple Wikipedia/goodle etc search - nb not the Aquarian constellation, but the star sign (some star signs have galaxies in them, for example). Much less scientific; but yep got the HD/HIP's for them - although soe of the Arab/etc names worked just as well in the galaxy map.

If are out the Aquarius way currently, Ancha was worth a look
HIP 110003
Aqr Theta θ 43 Aquarii, BD–08 5845, FK5 840, HD 211391, HR 8499, SAO 145991

Its the one with a piccie of a sun inside a ring as per my original post
