Aha - Python Mk2 for Free in Horizons!

Got my Free (well ,for in game CR only) P2 in Ody (on sale at £9.99 Epic, a few months ago) and thought I would see if it is still there and available in Horizons, and there it is bold as brass.
So, get your Ody on sale for free ships as and when they become available for in game CR's. I don't do On Foot except for the initial tutorial, so never tried it out, just loaded Ody and bought the P2!!!

I wonder if somebody will really opt for paying ARX in Horizons for a ship (after it is out of EA), instead of just putting up EDO and eventually getting all of the new ships. I mean, as support for the game this would be A-OK, but as a conscious financial decision it just seems stupid.

Clickbait title. It is only free for Horizons 4.0, which is the live codebase, and it's only free when you have Odyssey. Which begs the question why not just play Odyssey, as it's the very same client. All the Horizons Legacy players clicking here with a glimpse of hope will only find disappointment.

Last I saw, Odyssey was going for £10, which can't be far off the cost of the Arx you'd have to buy to get a Python mk2.

I got confused as well at first. As for why playing Horizons 4.0 at all if you own Odyssey, instancing with friends not having it might be a reason. Or did they implement full 4.0 cross-mode instancing recently?

Ok, I was under the impression the necessary 16k ARX package (presuming you start from zero) is 11 quids. Maybe they display special prices for me because I'm so naughty :D .

Yeah, just agreeing with you that buying the Python mk2 or buying the Python mk2 along the other 3 ships for the same money (when they're available) seems like a rather simple choice.

Just saying I didn't spend any ARX (RL Money!) to get the P2, just buy Ody, of which I have no need (unless demanded in future Ody ONLY CG/storyline), but then get the 4 ships for FREE (3 months patience plus in game CR only!)

Isn't locking ships for horizons players behind ARX the very "pay to win" mechanic the community objected to in the first place?

I personally am not giving frontier another dime until I get spacelegs.
