Naming your ship is / was planned but is not implemented yet - I'm hoping they still will put it in.

To answer your question - how about 'Crimson Vengeance'.

My Cobra, 'New Century', after my Cobra in the original Elite.
My Asp, 'Insurance Claim', as a reminder.
My Python, 'Ill-gotten Gains'.

I would probably just name my ships based on their location. Like "War Here", "Great Shop", or "Come Back Rich" etc

Id tap that Asp. Beer? Cmon man its new years, step up. Gallon of eggnog on clearance and a 5th of rum... and I need to slow down or Im not gonna see midnight.

When I get an Asp I am going to call it Burger, but at the moment I am happy with my Cobra, "Kevin".

Yes I believe you are a smarter man than I, as I am realizing I am almost certainly not going to see midnight. Perhaps a warm up drink would have been in order after all. :D

The real reason is that the amount of common sense needed to implement a totally self understanding feature such as naming a ship is not present at FD.
