Albino List!?

HELLO!
I was going to make a park with only albinos in a sandbox park.
Feel that I have some time and need a challenge.
Which animals have an albino variety?
Can we work together and make a complete list?

I have tried to google it, but dident find a list of all, only discussions about some animals such as lions.

The bengal tiger has an albino-variant in sandbox. I had one male white cub from normal looking parents. But sadly, you cant't breed other white tigers from them.

Here's all the alternate skins from the base game:

If you'd like videos of each, there's a link in my signature.
There's also the Reindeer from the Arctic DLC and the Dall Sheep (however it's bugged and only shows an albino icon).
And then there's the South American DLC, but I don't have that one yet so I couldn't tell you for sure what's in there!

Good luck with your new zoo!

(Editing to add there are also exhibit animals too, although I didn't get any of those either, so couldn't tell you for sure which ones :))

Because whatever you breed your white parent-tiger with (inbreed, crossbreed, I think I tried some hundreds of hours) - there is never any white offspring in sandbox. And yes, I know the Mendel laws.

Breed those tigers back with their not white siblings until you get a few white tigers. Breed each of those with new tigers for more genetic diversity, then with the cousins for more white babies.

What do you think I did? lol
I bred my male white tiger with his mother, all of his sisters, his daughters, his granddaughters and great-granddaughters, his nices and so on: I tried to breed with his parents in hope, there might be another white sibling, his mother with him and their daughters back with his father and so on and on and on for some hundreds of rl hours. I made lines with different savegames. There was never another white tiger. All offspring (some thousands I guess) where normal coloured.

I don't think I was unlucky - I never heard of anyone actually breeding a strain of white begal tigers in sandbox (or any other white animal whatsoever (perhaps with the exeption of peafowl))

Only thing you can get in sandbox is an occasional white animal per chance from normal coloured parents. But you can't breed with them. There are other threads about this in the forum, if you liked to search.

P.S.: I didn't try again after the last update. So if somebody suceeds to breed white animals in sandbox - please tell us! I would be very gladly proven wrong!

I've never gotten any albinos in sandbox, but in franchise pretty much every albino I breed results in another albino (if it's 2 albinos I'm breeding together). Although idk if that's because of the online aspect and those animals probably have "super albino genes" by the time I buy one

I only play sandbox.
And sadly it doesn't help to say, that it is possible in careermode or in franchise.

I know how it should work - but it doesn*t.

Yes, sadly you may be right.
I stopped playing the game when I couldn't breed my white tigers, because I can either play with my whitey and see him die without any other white offspring or I can play without him. The outcome is the same: a zoo without a white tiger. Whereas this didn't bother me at first (because all my animals where normal coloured and it was ok for me) - when I got my white tiger everything changed. My game was totally directed on white bengal tigers (my zoo had from then on only bengal tigers in about 20 enclosures) and now the game won't be fun anymore without breeding white tigers. But as there seems to be no chance....

Have you considered trying this in challenge mode?

I like building very much - especialy with the victorian theme. That's why I stick to sandbox.

Edit: Also it would be very hard to try and breed white tigers if you have to get a profitable zoo which you must have in challenge mode, as you will have to wait for some 1000 tiger-births to get your first albino by chance.

Sometimes I think, it is only because of "ghost"-trophy, that you may get a white animal in sandbox after you played some hundreds of hours.

Ok, I tried again.
Since my last try, there are more possibillities now, so I turned off dying of age, welfare and so on.
3 habitats:
1. white male tiger with his mother and one of his sisters
2. father with one of whities sisters
3. whities brother and sister

Let run through the night.
Outcome: 1864 normal coloured tigers, 1 white female (YAY) (habitat no. 3)

Second setup:
1 habitat with male and female white tiger
Outcome so far (2 hours or so): 133 normal coloured offspring-

I think, there is indeed something wrong with genetics in sandbox

Update:
Some hours later we are at 1048 offspring. Parents both white, offspring all normal coloured. I think, if we wait till we are at 1600 offspring, there might be another white one.

Conclusion: If you get a white animal in sandbox it is by chance and not by breeding. The aproximate relation is one white animal per 1500 to 1800 normal coloured animals, or about 0.75 o/oo.

Ye that seems really odd. Have been breeding white aardvarks in franchise for a few weeks now and after getting the first few, I've had white babys about 90% of the time when the parents were both white (they were not related though, not sure if that matters)

There is actually a bug regarding sandbox breeding of albino / melanistic animals. There's a ticket open. https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/14048

I've added my comment to that ticket as well. It is very hard to get any mutation in sandbox and only when doing a literal breeding farm you get 1 out of roughly 1500-2000 births and then they do not pass on their genetics to their offspring at all.
