Any video or photo proof of a CMDR getting into an escape pod? Any video or photo proof of an escape pod being left after the ship explodes?

Why does the ship explodes after we run out if oxygen? We can just fly back to it in our clone/new body/another hologram and use it again. Or why can't we just get into an escape pod?

That might be true but I think you are looking a bit too deep into things. I think it would require a giant leap of faith to assume we are A.I. in this game, and there is nothing in game that supports this theory (with us needing oxygen and and stuff) and i feel like it would actually take away from the game experience if this was true.

However i do think with the thargs about to bust through the door the tech and A.I. left by the Guardians will play some role into our defence against the thargs. the Dev's have just invested too much time and energy to have the guardians just be some side story.

but hey, that is just my opinion and you are entitled to have your opinion.

Folks, is it normal now that barnacles are found far outside the nebulas? Just stumbled upon one on Pleiades Sector IX-S B4-4 B 1. That's 80 ly from the Pleiades Nebula and only 25 ly from HIP 22460...

Why would a hologram choke and gasp for breath after the canopy is destroyed? Why would a hologram even need a fragile, transparent canopy when the hull integrity would be better if that area was armored and navigation data came from external sensors and cameras the hologram could patch into?

Awesome find. Fits in with predicted new ranges.
Will check if that is further than OI-T C3-7 , should be. and HIP system is under 100 lyrs, thats my latest presumed range.

Will head over there later tonight perhaps and take a look at that system.

It occurred to me, that according to the ancient Mayan myths and legends, the Annunaki came from within the Pleiades... Perhaps the Thargoids are a distant cousin...

3:30am does odd things to the human brain..

You say you stumbled onto this site. Was there anything specific that led you to surveying this particular body? Anything that gave you "that feeling" that there might be something there??

I was eyeballing for an alien base for the past few days, under the presumption that there might be more of them near the locked system, when it occured to me that the canyons below looked very much like those with barnacles in or near the nebulae. They have something in common, I am not sure what it is exactly but it's enough to give you 'that feeling' prompting you to investigate. So maybe 'stumbled' wasn't the best word actually.

Hi Cmdr, what's this about predicted new ranges? Has something changed that I've not noticed?
Barnacle sphere expansion would make sense if they are indeed immature Tharg nests/refuelling points-they would want to expand their resupply infrastructure as prior preparation to support the imminent expansion/swarming/invasion.

Has anyone looked at the likely conditions for these Thargoid nests? Should be some tentative conclusions to be drawn from the HIP 22460 video by anyone who's been in that system and can compare the videod planet thta the pirates landed on against actual pix. Might help to narrow down the search...

I looked for a while on HIP 17044 (convoy location? Coffee not kicked in yet) yesterday evening in some of the deep canyons on A2, but didn't spot anything. Gave up in the end as there's only so much inverted flying in a Cobra3 that I can do, especially after a few Fathers Day beers. Will return with an AspX when I can.

I think the Thargoid nest in the Pax East trailer is on one of the outer moons of the ringed planet in HIP 22460; going by the size of the planet they fly by the close-in moon then land on one further out to find the nest.

Don't know if it could be related but, on a recent interview about 2.4 and Thargoids :

Braben is particularly intrigued by planets with significant quantities of methane and ammonia. He believes life could thrive there, thanks to the warming effect CO2.
“I’ve always been fascinated by carbon-ammonia chemistry because I think it should be just as possible to have life where you’ve got a temperature band that is roughly about 100 centigrade cooler. Between 70 and 100,” Braben told Newsweek.
“There are a lot of interesting things to look at with a planet that has methane or ammonia chemistry. It’s quite possible to heat that up using CO2. It’s very hard to go the other way. So trying to see how different lifeforms might conflict in the future is fascinating.
