To all those who for whatever reason think that you deliver a cure to a virus or anything: read the description of the stuff again. This is no cure. It is a programable bio weapon. From the description it can even be programed to kill a specific lifeform (be it "Thargoid" or "Human"), then go dormant and wait till new hosts arrive. You can easily turn whole planets uninhabitable with that stuff.
.
So, what's the best way to stop this event? UA bombing?
.
You misunderstood my "theory". Although it's not very certain, that those events have really occurred - pretty much everything else just doesn't make any sense, especially if you - as i said - consider all that has happened with the Formadine Rift (which, i believe, is not a place, rather than a metaphor), with Salomé, how the Superpowers are behaving and everything else around that story arc.
Just a quick quote from the Wiki:
Certain events in Frontier: First Encounters have indicated that there may be another side to Thargoids; in prior conflicts, they have shown some anomalous behavior that does not entirely match with their popular image as relentless killing machines. At some point, a Commander Jameson may or may not have interacted with them, and may or may not have chosen to provide them with the vaccine to a genetically-engineered fungus ("hyper-mycoid") that attacked critical materials in their hyperdrives, preventing the construction of interstellar vehicles. If not, and if they appear in Dangerous regardless, then it can be assumed they developed a countermeasure on their own.
As i said previously: It's not absolutely certain, that it really occurred like that. But: Commander Jameson is mentioned and referenced in E

. And considering, that they have engineered a fungus that attacked their hyperdrives, Thargoids have essentially been restricted to their planets and sublight travel. That is why the pilots federation hard coded our Nav-Computers, so that we can't travel into the space of the Thargoids.
My believe is, that the fungus we have found on that planet, is that said fungus - although it isn't clear, since it hasn't been analyzed properly by this time. At least, as far as i know.
Considering all this, and the Guy Fawkes, all those cryptic messages and so on, all those "they can't get away with that" - i also believe, that this is to "save" the Thargoids and "free" them. What that will do - i have no idea. But i am absolutely certain, that we are going to have a War at hand - one way or the other, the Federation and the Empire will go to war.
Because considering the history of Humanity in E

...it isn't very different from what we have right now, and we have a huge number of conflicts simmering on a lot of fronts.
And i also believe in light of recent events, that the ruins are definitely "Human" in the broad sense of it.
And maybe, i'm totally wrong, and this is even bigger - a third race, that want's to eradicate us all and we need the Thargoids to help repel whatever is coming.
But: I do not believe, that the CQ has negative effects or even genocide in the back playing.
