I was pretty disappointed, that the producers of Alien Isolation even did commercial advertising with VR and then not even considered to include a VR function into the game.
At least they could have delivered a VR patch at some point.
And Mad Mike is right. I used a few tricks to play it in VR and i can only say, that moving in Alien Isolation in VR, is a motion sickness adventure of another magnitude...
A good VR game has a motion system, that mimics walking and running and independent head movement.
Is it as slick as A:I with the native VR for DK2, but updated to retail?
Sorry never played it on DK2 and no, it's not retail - it's a file created by a fan
Sorry, I was unclear. I was wondering if it's hooking into the native VR API that was in A:I upon retail release (albeit disguised in the config file). If so, then it's going to be a very slick experience, as it kicked rear-end on DK2; it was genuinely harrowing!
Looking forward to trying it later on.
It does pretty much that. It enables the old DK2 support for CV1 with all the bells and whistles of the newer runtime, looks really good and plays very well. It does suffer from the old hang ups such as computer screens being to close and movement being locked to head rotation.

Oh my god, so envious Vive owner right now.
I tried it on DK2 and experienced no motion sickness whatsoever. Claustrophobia and constant dread on the other hand... oh Mama (or Mother ;-) )
Does it not work with revive?
Movement isn't locked to head rotation. You can move normally using the sticks on the Xbox controller. Only look up/down is locked to head tracking
Movement is locked to head rotation - you can see this for yourself by simply walking forward in game and moving your head side to side, you will walk in the direction you look. The original VR implimentation was the same also, hopefully it's something the mod author can fix.
Nope tried it again and direction is definitely only dictated by the controller stick for me
The only thing head tracking does is look up and down and for aiming
Regardless of whether head is decoupled from walking, it could be worse, it could be teleporting like you do with robo recall - that kills the game for me :-(
