Alien stuff ahead!

any tips I'm loosing my rag trying to find it even using the calculator its not making sense

Ok.. First start out going in the bearing of 0 then see which one of the numbers starts rising/falling if it falls and you need it to fall go into SC and head in that direction until you are at the correct coordinate if it falls and you need it to rise then do a 180 and fly towards 180 degrees. Same with the other numbers just now it's 90 and 270 degrees.

Makes sense?

It actually does make sense, in my rage I didn't thought clear. I should have tried flying bearing 0.

Thanks.

Now i just dropped in orbit and tried to find them coordinates.

Hero!

Even with this helpful tool i can't get it done.

35 tipoff missions without trouble, but somehow the game doesn't wan't me to find this coordinates..

Or my connection drop EVERY SINGLE TIME i come close.. or the Coordinates jump to some totally random numbers as soon as my Y axis is spot on.. Pretty sure its me, but it looks bugged as hell.

I think it's a bug, as I stated on the previous page, I navigated to it by eye and will still be there when I log on in the next hour or so, I've used wing beacons to get friends to the right spot and am happy to do that for anyone here today. GT dukedastardly

Alright, also with the bearing tip, i can't get it done..

I want to stress this, i've done +/- 35 tip off missions, and i never had issues with finding the coordinates.

I made a video to show you.

Look at my lower coordinates counter, it doesnt actually move, no matter what i do.. In the end you see my top coordinates jump around. Most likely because i fly over the north, or southpole.

With this video i hope some of you see what im doing wrong.

Really need some help with this.. I have NO clue what im doing wrong. bin on it for 4 play hours now.

Never denied that.. lol

Can't see the cords in the video because I am on mobile. Here is another tip. Point your ship at -90 degrees on the thing that indicates your orientation to the Horizon then start boosting.

I have mushed my mobile device sufficiently to my face so I can see the cords. Dusty I think you need glasses because both the cord indicators are changing.

You are in normal flight though.

I mean if the place is on the other side of the planet it will take you years to get there!! Go into supercruise.

Best to use N, E, S, W..

So if the direction indicator at the top is at 0 it's North, if it's at 180 it's South.

If you are heading North the number at the top goes up. (The number showing ~-32 in your vid).

If you are heading South it goes down.

If you are heading East the second number goes up, for West it goes down. (the number showing ~-90 in your vid)

Just do one step at a time, N, E, S OR W, don't try to get fancy.

Or get someone to guide you in.

Yeah, i was in normal flight to figure out why my coordinates jumped all of a sudden.

I usually do it the same way as you do. Never really had issues with it. except now.

This evening i will ask one of the guys over here to guide me in, because, apparently im to damn stupid to do it my self this time.. haha.

One last tip with the bearing calculator. You put in your coordinates then the cords you want to be at then it tells you in which direction to fly and if you keep flying in that direction you will end up where you need to be.

Ok here is how i do it.

First, let´s call the upper coordinate in the hud the x-coordinate, the lower coordinate the y-coordinate.

Head towards the planet and stay in supercruise. Go to about 100km altitude, go to slowest speed possible (in supercruise) and level the ship (blue marker), ship botton faced towards the planet. If you have the planet above you it´s mirrored.

Now it´s simple. Check the compass. If you go to heading "0" only the y-coordinate will raise.
If you go to heading 90 degres, only the x-coordinate will raise.
If you go the opposite of 0, "180", the y-coordinate will lower.
If you go the opposite direction of 90, "270" the x-coordinate will lower.

Allways follow one of the 4 directions until you reach your destination. If very close (less the 1 degree in each direction) leave supercruise and do the rest in normal flight, same mechanics apply.

Happy sightseeing.

Oh btw. figured you can scan the active obelisk and get different datasets, how many are there?

Waaaaait a minutes, also if it looks like it over jumps completely and the situation looks desperate?

Have you tried to navigate with the grafic from page 4 of this Thread?
That worked for me very good, havent even looked for coordinates.
This i mean:

Ok i give up! Who is there now? I just jump on your wing beacon...

After 1.5 hours again, im seriously in doubt. This can't be my fault alone.. no way!!!

I know your feeling Dusty, I became very frustrated after having found the site by following a very clever ( ex army ) wing mate of mine a couple of days ago. Logged back into game the following day got killed by 2 fools in cutters... Then had to fly back to Synuefe system.. now I am struggling to find the sit again.
1 Is the site on the dark side now ?
2 Anyone else been able to find the location following the Maps from the fisrt page megathread ( because I have tried but am unable to) ?

I have copied this guide from Cmdr Aesahaettron the reddit site, hope it helps people >
If lat and long have been reversed the following now needs reversing as we now believe to have happened since friday ! :p

Planetary coordinates are displayed in latitude and longitude. You will see something like -27.8996 56.7890. Unfortunately, Elite doesn't put these numbers on the surface map so you have to find coordinates on your own using headings.

Latitude
360: increases latitude, also called north
180: decreases latitude, south

Latitude ranges from -90 to 90 degrees. When heading exactly 360 or 180, your longitude will not increase.

Longitude:
90: increases longitude, east.
270: decreases longitude, west

Longitude ranges from -180 to 180. When heading exactly 90 or 270 degrees, your latitude will not change.

(In Elite, you can't head at these precise headings so your other coordinate will change slightly but slowly.) Now that you know that, you can forget it and use a simple website that tells you heading/bearing. The example coords shows NYC to LA, which is almost a west bearing.

I found it, the guy that made the picture above put the coordinates in the wrong order.. Or the coordinates in my HUD are in the wrong order..

I can't believe it!
