all 6 axis with FA off simultaniously

Hi there guys. Is there a way with the new xbox 1.6 update coming... to customize the xbox controller and make use of all the 6 axis used with FA off? without having to press the alternate controlls button?

Right now I have to press the alternate flight controlls button all the time to get that extra 6th axis working. Flying Elite dangerous with FA off is the most fun i've had. I wish we had some extra buttons to assign that 6th axis...

I am thinking to buy the Elite controller, but that wont help anyway at the moment because the extra buttons are just alternate buttons from the already assigned buttons on top of the controller.

you'll be able to comletely customise the xbox controller with the new update, so I'd assume there would be a way of setting all six Axis onto your "main" control scheme

Does anyone know if the customisation will allow for keyboard input?

It would be useful to assign keys instead of xbox pad buttons to certain functions...like scb and heat sinks...

Every time I think of something I want to see in game I hold back and just think "no, they have to get horizons here first!" but it doesn't stop us wanting. Have you seen the new space traffic controller? totally      in.

Wait, there is a video of the new space traffic controller? Where?! where!! WHERE!!!!


At this moment im more hyped about the changes in 1.6 then horizons in a whole.. lol

You've surprised me there dusty I thought you would be stalking the newsletter thread on a Friday, I know I do and the last two have been choc full of goodies.

Do you think xbox cmdrs will get the callsign or will it just be a PC thing ? They have voicepacks etc.

The thing I'm most excited for when horzions drops is taking combat that started in space to a dogfight through canyons.

I believe the 1.6 version if the full fat version, meaning there's no reason we shouldn't get callsigns... It's probably the thing I am most excited for.

With horizons, just looking forward to being able to drive around my ship, have buggy races, multi crew seeing an anaconda spawn buggies and eagles... etc. etc. etc. looking too far ahead maybe

It will add a lot to the atmosphere around stations for sure .
I guess the question is what version of horzions will we start at 2.0-2.2 ? I think it will be the current pc version whatever that is when we get horzions (Hope that made sense)
I'm really looking forward to having a reason to vist the ice belts apart from just admiring the view.


Sorry op I have a bad habit of derailing threads (I don't mean too) . I think we will have the ability to totally remap the controller but I don't think the xbox pad has enough buttons to do what you're asking without losing the ability to do something vital.

I believe they are trying to get us to the same level, so when we have horizons we'll have everything released for PC etc. fingers crossed, eh.

Back on track though. as before it should be possible to have all controls on the "main" control scheme, but things would have to be moved over to alternate which you may miss more than having all 6 axii on the one board.

I do like the look/sound of this on the video, my only concern is I can see it getting a bit repetitive in game (I can't imagine they have recorded very many people doing the Traffic Controller voice), still glad. Hope I'm wrong.

I had that exact same though. hope there's a good mix of different people in there, but even with just this as long as there are some different phrases it'll be better than "Docking request granted"

It's honestly a little more exciting when it's denied!

Im pretty sure in the dev stream the other night (or it might of been in a comments section ) he said there will be a load of different voices for traffic control with different accents depending on the region of space.

Sounds good!

Certainly hope I am wrong, did sound good in the clip, certainly makes the docking experience more immersive.
