Ship Builds & Load Outs All possible ENGINEERS upgrade options for frame shift drive

Hi,

Can anyone compile all possible upgrade options/effects for frame shift drive from engineers available please?

Are you aware whether there is an upgrade to decrease fsd loading time before jump/speed up jump time?

Thanks!

There isn't one to decrease FSD spool up time.

Faster boot sequence refers to after you have disabled/enabled in modules tab.

I see. I did not get from exploration to test the engineers dlc yet.

These blueprints - how do they work - say you have unlocked a certain blueprint with certain engineer - would I have to construct that upgrade everytime to use it (say as fuel refill for srv) or once it is crafted it is permanent?

Is it ship specific or one can sore upgraded - transfer modul to other ships?

Thanks!

Bonus question! Are Engineer bases accepting all sizes of ships by the way?

Once crafted they are permanent to that module.

You can transfer modules to other ships but it is not officially supported so if there is a network outage or similar during the process you will lose it. No storage, they are thinking about it.

The bases have large pads.

Just read about that random nature of modification effect

Is it even worth chasing these upgrades? What is the theoretical max for FSD range?

The specific details are in the above link. A level 5 upgrade to FSD range could see you with a 44% increase max. But levels overlap so you can end up with a level 5 that is only just better than a maxed out level 2.

There is plenty of debate about the engineers on the forums.

TL;DR they are worth it but can be a lot of grind if you want it to the exclusion of all other gameplay.

Edit: If you are out exploring it is worth bearing in mind you can rank up (unlock) using exploration data with Farseer and Martuuk. Approx 4 million in data will see you to level 4. Around 16 million to level 5. Then you need to find the mats...

If you do nothing else except try and get a level 5 FSD range boost it takes a long time to find the materials and it can be frustrating because even when you are looking in the correct place they show up at random. Where as if you just play the game as normal you will come across most of the materials over time, so less frustrating but it takes longer.

They are planning a new release end July/early August that will make the rare materials easier to find.

Have you ever searched for polonium on planet? That is a good reference for how hard some of the materials are to find.

Do not get me started with the polonium or the joy of prospecting.

Problem is "playing as normal" does not really make too much of the sense to me really - I have tried all the ships, I have some money and do not know what to do next really. I am not into the pvp or community challenges. sigh

One thing left is mining, as I have not done that yet.

If your primary gameplay is exploration then better FSD range, higher integrity drives and PD's, better armour for no additional mass, lower mass weapon mounts, higher output powerplants (use a smaller lower mass one) are probably worth looking at.

Most if not all of the Engineer items are available through missions I believe, mind you I had to go hunting Polonium and Yttrium planetside so been there............. ;)
