All RES are total crap now for hunting.. is this what FD want?

it is currently bugged at the moment though if you reset it enough you get endless vultures, clippers, pythons, and dropships of master-deadly if you get the right spawn. granted the way spawning works atm i think you have a better chance of winning at slots than getting this spawn, and i am not sure if the increase in how quickly you make creds (about what is was before 2.5-3 mil and hour in a good ship) makes up for the time wasted on the spawn, though for me it was worth it so that the npc's in a wing could at least have a chance of defending themselves and did take a reasonable level of awareness. if you want proof they still work i took a couple of screenshots today. this was hip 20277 near the starport you get a 20 % bounty bonus in arissa space

Another day, another patch, and RES sites are still broken. I can't comprehend why only roughly 1 in 30 resets yield ships that have a rating above "Mostly Harmless." Ridiculous is what it is.

We found a dream RES earlier, had a nice time killing an endless stream of Elite Pythons/Clippers/DS/Vultures and their escorts until we both got dumped out of the game sigh...

Still no sign of any wanted Condas of any rank.

those same cops save your butt in there when fighting a conda in a underpowerd ship. the reasion for the huge sawrn is there supposed to be a swarm of pirates to like a hi conflict zone. there not spawing.

this is not a security issue hi sec don't even spawn hi res.
Ok that's 3 people in a row now I can't take it. It's THEY'RE. Not there, not their. THEY'RE (not spawning). Ok? Please it's not rocket science. You used there earlier in your sentence correctly....

Anyway moving along.

This is still a huge issue. CZs are affected too. Basically there's no way to progress in combat ranking if you only find mostly harmless ships? Do I really have to relog a dozen times or more just to find ships with a higher rating than novice?

Bounty hunting is still VERY profitable.

No, it's really not.

Best practice for RES at the moment

Sadly, resetting the instance is the instance, many, many times until you see a dangerous level dropship, clipper, or python is the best way right now.

I recommend parking a few km above the RES site signal source, and simply logging out to the main menu and back into the game until you see what you like. Make sure they are dangerous level, and not the far more common harmless python or dropship. You location above the site will ensure that the enemy spawns near you and doesn't beeline to an NCP ship and allows you to safely reenter the game without being thrown into an asteroid.

As confirmed before, the best we can get right now is a clipper/vulture/dropship/python spawn where they range from about 70-200k each when using a KWS. This makes for some very decent profit, but the time required to reset the instance can be soul searchingly painful.

Actually, today my wingmate and I got tired of resetting the instance after a couple of times, and when we got one that spawned big mostly harmless wanted ships, we just decided to keep that. And to our surprise, after some time (dunno, maybe 20 or 30 minutes) it started spawning big elite and deadly ships.

Was REALLY hoping that High Intensity RES would mean High Rank, larger, meaner ships to fight. What we have are small/harmless. Hoping it's a bug or just a really cruel joke...
am so glad res farming is over.way to easy to make money and no danger.if you re in for combat,go to a CZ.

When you're in a big ship, you need a big challenge. The challenge is gone, only harmless puny ships. I want lots of variety of ships, ranks, and action.

Interdicting a single ship is like clubbing a baby seal.

I miss the action, the big dogfights, weaving through asteroid belts. Now all that's left is conflict zones, which are less thrilling, and again, harmless now.
I do not understand why RES should be the high fight place. For who want to kill high class ships and high rank pilots just go in SSS. But I am sure you don't want to loose your 300M ships there, and you want just to farm high rank pilots for combat rank....

Every time there is some change there are always 100 guys who cry about how this is useless now, nerf stick upset me, this game sucks... you guys are cry babies. Come up with a solution. Whining isn't going to help.

Lots of people have suggested ways to improve RES mechanics, but the solution to the immediate problem is obvious: give people the tools and information to reliably find good places to hunt in RES for cash and get rid of silly random mechanics which do nothing but frustrate. The problem is not a lack of solutions. The problem is that the game has been changed in a way which affects peoples' play-styles. I'm trying to save up for a combat python fit out. I don't want to do this trading. I've done some exploring and it doesn't make enough money to do this in a reasonable time, and whilst interesting for a while, it gets old quickly. The most fun/profitable way for me to do this pre-1.3 was to find a RES with a good spawn and fight big powerful ships all day. I can't do that any more, and I haven't logged in all weekend as a result. So, on the contrary, it certainly DOES help FD to know they've changed things which have caused some players to reduce their time in-game, or stop playing altogether, even if they choose to ignore it.

And your point is moot anyway, since Mr. Brookes has posted specifically in this thread to say there is something wrong with RES at the moment, hence "sitting in a hi res for 10 minutes with no NPC ships" anecdotes.

Except it wasn't nerfed, there's a bug, currently with spawning ALL NPC's, even in Conflict Zones and Military Strikes. You cannot say there is nothing wrong with the spawn system when there clearly is something wrong with the spawn system. You know thats kinda the reason in the recent Dev Update, Michael Brookes saying they know about it? Soooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Yeah. Awkward how your in here trying to cause a stink when were talking about a relevant problem in the game.

The fact that there is a bug, and FD are working on it and everyone is still prattling on about the issue pretty much argues for Wakko's point. There being a recognized issue doesn't mean the whining is justified.
