All RES are total crap now for hunting.. is this what FD want?

Was RES really ever that enjoyable? Sure, it made you the best money for bounty hunting, but once you could afford a vulture it was like watching the paint drying in your T9 cockpit after your hundredth return trip to planet GoldAndSlaves

Once, i haved a dream. Dream about Python. Now, i have nothing. And lucky is, there is a best combat ship added in Wing 1.2.
I need to give up upon that dream. And i can play without frustration.

You people don't get it? (Some of you don't get it) Some of us are seeking intense action with agreeable earning.
RES are perfect place for this. Of-course, there are a Conflict zones.

What I'm afraid of at the moment is that with E3 the complete next week we will not see a patch for the RES in this time.
This is Bad omen for RES?

It was actually the only thing I found enjoyable in this game. Trading is so tedious and boring I never want to do it again and exploring got real boring real fast (look a star, look some planets, look some more planets, a blue star wow, more planets, another star, etc. etc.)

I guess I want more "game" in my games. I do expect this game will eventually have content though which is why I bought the mercenary pack, but until then the only thing I enjoy is finding a good RES instance, putting on some music and killing pirates for profit.

I haven't even logged in since Powerplay. I'm not interested in it and my only ingame activity was nerfed, so why bother?

It's not for bounty hunters, it's for miners and pirates.

High Intensity = Low security
Low Intensity = High security
Regular RES = Medium security

I'm not sure if it was ever intended to be a bounty hunting spot, but my gut tells me that a place chock full of miners, resources and pirates was not intended to be a scenic battle arena.

I'd love to have planetary rings with hidden rock hermits, and outposts only 30 or so KM above the rings, operated by pirates. Especially in ice rings.

It'd make great opportunities for hunters and pirates alike :)

Yes....bring back rock hermits. I used to love them in the original

I agree 100%. The only thing I enjoyed was the fighting. I've logged in two times since PP and at this point probably won't play again until they do something to fix it.

Are the RES still classed as broken, or was today's patch meant to have fixed them? Because they still seem to be not very good at all in terms of activity and conflict going on there...

No mention of it in the patch notes as far as I can see. Michael, if you're reading this, can we get an update? Has the problem been identified? Is there a fix on the cards at some point?

RES sites are not the end all and be all of bounty hunting. Those are/were a barrel shoot. The real action is in SC. I have been making credits hand over fist, compared to BH in 1.2, since PP dropped. I finally fit up an Interdictor, take to the skies and burn up some wanted targets. Grab some BH missions from a Bulletin Board, jump the the correct system, and bam, you're making credits. When I hear the drone about RES's all I hear is "I need a Farm".

This is going to depend heavily on your combat rank though. I think I'm master at the mo, and I can pick up missions (if I'm lucky) for about 350-390k. Plus bounties this usually comes to around 700k for, say 8-10 pirates. I didn't time it, but I felt like this took around 40 minutes, but perhaps it could be done quicker. Whilst this was fun the first time I did it, it's as "farmy" as res hunting is. Wait for stuff to spawn in SC, interdict, scan kill, claim. Same deal, just slightly different environment. Plus, less than a mil per hour is grind hell if your objective is something like combat fitting a Python. I know people will say "creds aren't everything" and "small ships are cool too" etc. Well, more power to you! But I have my own goals in game, and they are fairly unachievable at these rates, particularly given I don't have 5 hours a night to play.

Fighting among the asteroids is awesome. You don't get that in Supercruise.

I haven't read the past few pages, just skipped to last, but I just want to remind everyone that RES is no longer for bounty hunters, it's for miners mainly, and pirates (logical path). The rewards are increased, and we don't want to swarm the miners with huge amounts of NPC pirates.

EDIT: Fighting among asteroids IS awesome. I'd like to see rock hermits and the like in future updates, but I'm glad RES have returned to their rightful owners.

When you're in a big ship, you need a big challenge. The challenge is gone, only harmless puny ships. I want lots of variety of ships, ranks, and action.

Interdicting a single ship is like clubbing a baby seal.

I miss the action, the big dogfights, weaving through asteroid belts. Now all that's left is conflict zones, which are less thrilling, and again, harmless now.

You can pull down ships that are in wings. Pulling one ship nets you the whole wing. I pulled a wing of eight in one go. There's action. You can only target one ship at a time in any event. I just don't see the dire state of RES's like you do. I am still raking it in, and I just offered an option. But, to each his own.

I wonder who is meant to fight the pirates then?

The missions system lets you stack multiple pirate kill missions on top of another, and earn kills for them all simultaneously. Grab 10 missions for killing pirates. Kill 15 pirates, turn them all in at once. That's a bad system.

It's less about being a farmer and more about providing security for the miners. The pirates are attacking and you are defending. Makes perfect sense. The constant stream of attackers makes sense because the ones you are killing are sending distress signals to their buddies who are coming to help.

I think it made sense as well. RES sites should be hubs of activity, central to the economy of a system, the most important areas in a system. Miners gather the metals, attracting swarms of pirates, attracting bounty hunters who can earn themselves some good coin and reputation if they target the proper pirates. High intensity sites I took to mean a greater concentration of miners and pirates, at higher combat ranks thus worth higher bounties.

RES should be the most active sites aside from high intensity conflict zones (which never seem that intense). Low intensity RES should naturally be calmer and less rewarding for miners, pirates and bounty hunters than high intensity.

What doesn't make sense are nav points. What's their function and why do they have so much traffic?

Guess I'll have to see what the RES fix does to make a final decision.

The earnings are bad whether you use the bounty board or not sadly, and the high intensity/low/RES certainly aren't for miners I've tested that too :/ tbh they've just gone from useful for one role to useful for none - I really don't think thats an improvement in gameplay (though the supercruise pirate hunting mechanics are much improved)
