All RES are total crap now for hunting.. is this what FD want?

So where to hunt?

Missions: maximum competent
RES: max Novice

Costing me 50,000 cr just to travel around now with the wear and tear. They say they've reduced damage for interdiction - but I've been avoiding that - and its still costing a fortune. The best things to do now are the assassinations, but if you want to interdict... I don't get how I can repair 50% hull for 30k, but my wear and tear costs 50k just for existing for an hour. I paid 1.3 million earlier for a few percent integrity. This game is getting expensive -

Thinks: do you think this is deliberate? : like a usage cost continuously running, scaled to the value of your ship - because that is what it effectively is...

It was a bug. I miss it, as hull integrity doesn't need to be paid, and instead you could just let it hit 0% and then buy a new ship, but the community spoke.

(Integrity)

Was a bug? - it is still the same cost as far as I can see. Patch notes said less damage for interdiction - not lower costs. I'm still getting damage and billed without interdictions.

Yes there are, but hardly any medium or high ranked.

SSS have 3 Condas sometimes.... but also novice or even worse, so no reward for the risk.

Pretty sure this isn't intended, from the latest patch notes:

Fix for the various intensities of RES locations. High, normal and low now mean high skill, medium skill and low skill, which they didn't before.

I had a better time running actual bounty hunting contracts last night than RES sites. It was refreshing not jumping in and out trying to get it to spawn better targets. Of course... with the 20 ton cargo bug, pirating is ruined so I'm hopelessly lost.

I tried 4 conflict zones tonight and apart from the very occasional Novice pilot they contained nothing but Harmless and Mostly Harmless combat ships. They don't make wars like they used to ...

Fellow Commanders, I too have noticed a distinct lack of worthy targets at not only RES sites but also Nav Beacons. Firstly, if you think about it, Nav Beacons should be the natural haunt of any nefarious pilot as all ships coming into the system have to go through that point (could never understand why all the combat at a RES, those poor miners ...).

Secondly, think about it. Galactic war has broken out, various factions have consolidated their own space and are actively seeking out to expand and they need killers, they need traders who like to flirt along on the outside of the law. That is where all our highly ranked Commanders have gone, they are off playing Power Play and left the Res and Nav Beacons to those lowly ranked guys ...

This is what I have found as well. Apparent High intensity res site should require high skill in the latest patch, but all I'm seeing at high res sites are Harmless pirates. The highest ship class I have encountered is a Diamond Back. Something has gone wrong somewhere.

You can find Conflict Zones with all ranks, I found one last night full of Elite ships, had to run for my life.

The system name is PICAURUKAN if you want to check out.

All of the high rank pirates and combat veterans have already been massacred over the past 6 months, all because of those darned community goals. Maybe if we wait a few months and go back, they will have ranked up enough to be formidable opponents.

I I keed I keed.

Hopefully this gets fixed properly soon. I prefer combat zones because of the constant action but with every NPC at 'mostly harmless' it gets a bit boring after a while. And what's with all of the frag cannons all of a sudden?? Was there a warehouse going out of business, selling off their frag cannons for pennies on the dollar?

I hang around in Empire and the first thing I did was go to a high intensity RES. I found it no different to be honest, spawned a chain of Pythons, Imperial clippers, Fed dropships and Condas for me to drop. It did get a little hairy at times, especially getting attacked by a Conda with a wing of 2 vipers who happen to hate me.

Maybe depends on overall system security?

This was suppose to be fixed with the update.

The patch notes clearly stated....

If you found this to be untrue then I would log a bug report. I will test it when I get home but that won't be for another 12 hrs or so
This doesnt actually state they were putting them back to how they were. Just that they have different levels of security to help you fight. Personally I hope they will remain like this, it was a rediculously easy way to farm credits before, no skill, no effort required, which is probably why so many are up in arms about it. Still plenty of money to be made from combat, missions rewards are good and can be done very quickly if you know all the tricks. Combat zones are a good replacement for RES if you dont like to move around, the rewards have been buffed so you can make a good return / hr if that is what you are after.

As for ship level, I agree is it tough to find ship for progression, I have been lucky recently though, doing pirate hunting missions I have dropped into a few SSS (the best way to do these quickly) and found several high ranking fleets with good bounties. Broke my bounty record a couple of nights ago with a 347k elite conda, tough fight vrs him and his 5 friends.

and if you sc out and back in, will it still have these spawns or is RES just as random as in 1.2?

Big NO. And i didn't have these spawns anymore for long time.

Nav Beacon's are very Bad Idea. As a Bounty hunter, i don't hunt miners, i'm spending time in Pirate hunting, Wanted NPC's.
Spawing Wanted NPC's in Nav Beacon's is also rare.

High ranks in my System is very rare too.

The nerf may have something to do with the Hudson PP rank bonus for bounty hunting.

Imagine the money some would make with the old spawns and 50 to 100% bounty voucher increase.

If there's one thing we do know it's that FD hates us making credits.

I was in a high intensity RES site in Arexe, near Arexe 3, last night and I got a lot of ships ranked Deadly, Master or Competend. Can't remember seeing anything lower. Quite a lot where Deadly actually.
