Ships Alliance Chieftain - Shield Tank?


Wacky, and yet surprisingly fun hybrid tank all short range Chieftain. Puts that Chief agility to work and still gives you about 1.8 km to work with.

Overcharged Cytoscrambers with phasing for shields so you don’t mind how many SCBs they pop.

Twin short range APAs for hulls with a short range (level 4 for range matching) thermal vent beam to pump out the heat. The beam + the corrosive MC are enough for small ships.

There are more effective and straightforward builds out there, but this is the ship I have the most fun with.

I'm also currently looking at playing around with my Combat Chieftain. This is what I'm currently rocking (PvE):


A shield-centric build, that also could take one or two hits should the shields ever go down.

I thought about swapping around the SCB and the Shields for some more sustainability:


I lose roughly 100 MJ in raw shield strength, but gain a hefty boost in SCB power.
No Heatsinks is no worry though, since I roughly lose 1-5% on module health due to the only very short overheating after firing all SCBs.
