Already a other combat CG? Too soon?

What do you guys think of this new format of giving participation rewards for CGs?

On one hand, it allows players with less play time to get rewarded.

On the other, there's no real incentive to climb up the leaderboard.

I would be happy to have the rewards (not just the amount of credits) go crescendo with the ranking of the tier, or the player, or even a combination of both.
ATM, players not interested in the credits just need to drop one contribution and leave.

There could be low-tier rewards, like paint jobs, easily achievable by ranking in the top 75%, modules for the top 50%, better modules for 25%, and mabye a pre-build ship or some cosmetics for the top 10 (the Corsair / Corsair ship kit would have fitted very well with the description of the current CG...)?

With the current ranking system, most players able to achieve a high rank do not need credits...so what is left is a sense of achievement by basically being in the "high score".

They want a mass platform for combat-testing the Corsair so they can check its balance. This challenge also specifically targets the PVE crowd, while the PVP crowd would have been more drawn to the other. The rewards also specifically attract people who already fly Gutamaya ships, to provide side-by-side data between the Corsair, Clipper, and Cutter perhaps?
Weird theory. We want you to test this ship but it's only restricted access.

This is how you do a war CG.

Multiple Frontlines, multiple systems, lasts more than 1 or 2 weeks or even 4 days. Multiple changing objectives and situations. Not just shoot fish in a barrel for as long as you can stand it. 🤷‍♂️

Oh man, how I agree with you...but...I...like flying spaceships...

It is not mandatory to attend every CG... I mean, we're just shooting bystanders there as this one it's a request for help against "pirates" by an Empire aligned faction and KWS = KoS for us.

Went to the single Haz RES there in open yesterday. There was around 10 or so other commanders in the instance, 3 of them flying Corsairs. Rest were a mix of PII-s, 'Vette, Clipper, Cobra V. And my Mandalay. Overall a good transect of popular ships. I'd say Fdev is getting some good data here over the next 2 weeks.

Oh, I agree with that.

I just believe it was a bad decision from FDev, about 8 years ago (I took a break from the game around that time), when there used to be 2 CG's per week or so. When the same things happen over and over, too often/continuously, people lose interest.

Some may not like other commanders flying around, but I do. Makes the game feel alive instead of the usual emptiness that I feel way too often.
I like traffic jams at the station, I like to team up with commanders, I love gankers and pirates (rare to see)...OK, I wish there could be a good parking spot left for my carrier too but, oh well... ;-)
