Great list. Mine isYes, Fleet carriers again...
I've been preparing to move a fleet of ships to Colonia and, TBH, engineering modules for ships that are already there was proving to be a bit of a faff.
So, I've made a decision.
I'm bringing a bunch of ships back from Colonia to engineer them and then I'm going to load the entire fleet onto a Carrier and haul 'em to Colonia myself.
In the end I figure it'll save me a heap of Credits 'cos, even though I'm spending Cr2bn to transfer ships back to the bubble, I can then buy a Carrier and save about Cr5bn on the cost of transfering my fleet to Colonia.
Point being, I'll be spending the Credits on a Carrier to move my fleet, rather than spending Cr5bn to move my fleet and then buying a Carrier as well.
So, now I just need for FDev to not screw up Carriers and not make gathering fuel and supplies too arduous.
Here's what I'm planning on taking (if anybody cares):-
Lrg 1: Anaconda - Combat ship.
Lrg 2: Anaconda - large Multirole ship.
Lrg 3: Anaconda - Exploration ship (to get back to the bubble... eventually)
Lrg 4: Cutter - Cargo ship.
Lrg 5: T10 - large Mining ship.
Lrg 6: Orca - Passenger ship.
Lrg 7: Python - Mining ship.
Lrg 8: Python - Cargo ship.
Med 1: Krait Mk2 - Multirole.
Med 2: Krait Mk2 - Naughty ship.
Med 3: AspX - Mat Scavver.
Med 4: Phantom - Exploration ship.
Sml 1: DBX - Scout ship.
Sml 2: iEagle - Canyon Runner.
Sml 3: Hauler - Taxi.
Sml 4: Cobra mk3 - Just 'cos.
I have a plan now, FDev.
Down let me down.![]()
Lrg 1: Type 10 Defender - aka The 'Goid scourge of the Milky Way with doubly dread anti 'Goid XG8 Javelin fighter.
Lrg 2: Conda - with XG9 Lance fighter ship. Multipurpose/but more combat focused role ship for PP support, sandbox and CG ventures.
Lrg 3: Cutter - with Gu-97 fighter ship. But predominantly because as an esteemed Duke of the Empire, my Hollow Me must roll in style appropriate to his social station
Lrg 4: Beluga - space Uber Black with Taipan or G7 Trident fighter ship. Design build as exclusive luxury passenger/luxury tourists only vessel. For those deep space, round trip sightseeing tours from the bubble. And for the beautifully convenient fact its the only Saud Kruger passenger liner that rolls with a fighter bay.
Lrg 5: Orca - first class/business class space Uber X. For those one way, passenger only trips under 20 LY jumps within the bubble
Lrg 6: Type 9 Heavy - with Taipan fighter ship. Multipurpose mining/trading cargo ship with defensive combat build against pesky pirates.
Lrg 7: Corvette - with F63 Condor fighter ship. Necessary for PP role play in navigating federal space when my Holo Me is acting as double agent for the Empire.
Lrg 8: Reserved for whatever drip feed ship(s) FDev may have up their sleeve for future release
Med 1: AspX - pure science vessel/deep space exploration ship
Med 2: Mamba - pure fighter/scout ship for predominantly PP & sandbox piracy, cargo hatch breaking, capital ship plundering, espionage and other bum nugget skull duggery crimes against humanity in the bubble
Med 3: Python - multipurpose combat/trading/bounty hunting ship with a fighter focus build
Med 4: Keelback - best armed trading vessel for wartime star port support. Best medium ship for mining/trading in dangerous sectors with low security/war/outbreaks etc.
Sml 1: Dolphin - economy class space Uber conveniently dockable at any star port/outpost/planetary base to pickup cheaper passengers. And freeloading refugees if my Hollow Me can be bothered with it.
Sml 2: Cobra Mk IV - multipurpose in all trader/fighter/explorer categories
Sml 3: Imperial Eagle - mostly for PP bounty hunting/interdiction/espionage/scouting missions
Sml 4: Sidey - original n00b ship with rented modules. Used for loss mitigation of more expensive ships. So basically a throw away ship for piracy/NPC contact missions where you're likely to get bounties for espionage etc. Or investigating dangerous/unknown systems, surveying faction activity in war zones, grinding easy bounties vs superior ships using system authorities etc etc. Any situation where loss of a more valuable ship can be avoided
btw: Cobra Mk IV over MK III any day of the space week. Because of its (often overlooked) multipurpose capabilities as a versatille trading, mining, space uber, and bounty hunter abilities And for non engineered base specs like these which beat the Mk3 all around IMO:
- max 25 LY unladen jump
- multicrew
- surprising 92 ton capacity
- average handling/manueverability
- 342 m/s boost which gives you a decent, non engineered amount of thrust to escape interdiction
- and much more
And unless you're planning on refitting towards pure passenger hauling, the Hauler is kinda worthless IMO. Especially when you have a superior alt small ship like the Mk4
