Alright Odyssey, we need some more guns

The lack of innovation is not a valid argument.
Did anybody ever try "advanced" docking computers with a Cutter?
"Advanced" docking computers consume 0.45 megawatts - and do not work properly with a Cutter.
And that's perfectly reasonable - because the monopoly on docking computers is a complacent bunch of lazy lamers who feel tired when burdened with the exhausting task of counting the days left until retirement.
Did anybody ever wonder what a "Tritium Officer" on a carrier actually does?
Or why you have to use a ship to transfer tritium from a carrier's cargo hold to the tritium tank?
Or why you see personnel sleepling on your carrier in the middle of the day?
Or why independent engineers are able to invent things that the big lazy corporations can not?
Or why the big lazy corporations are not even able to just copy these new designs and sell them for a s***load of credits?
Well, I guess that the people in the 34th century became pretty dumb and lazy with all that money laying around. There are even lazy pirates risking their ships for 4 tons of silver that they could mine for themselves in a minute or two...

M61 Vulcan 20mm cannon
These things were originally mounted on Thunderchiefs. Amazing rotaries.

Also, maybe a dumb question, but at any point during Odyssey's development, early phase or current phase, have melee weapons ever discussed? I'm not a proponent of them, but I'm interested to know if the subject was ever covered.

I don't know if it was ever discussed among the devs but I can't recall it ever being mentioned to us players. All we have is hands or whatever tool we have to hand (I don't think it makes any difference in effect). It is also a little strange that we can't use the Arc cutter as a weapon.

We can use the energy tool though - a lethal taser.

Of course, these would also be tots awesome:

We don't necessarily need new weapons - adding alt-fire to most weapons or more meaningful customization for more expressive/fun play would do.

That said adding more weapons/kit is a way for the game to stay fresh over a longer period of time and at least we're getting it where it matters (the new AX stuff in the pace game).

Having 2-3 extra weapons in each current category (TF2 style) would go a long way even if the original intent was to make a mediocre but well-balanced shooter rather than a live service looter shooter game that constantly has to keep adding new weapons to keep players engaged.

Heh, rereading Snowcrash in little bits at the moment, and got through the: "listening to Reason" bits just last night... :p

Lmao.. slight derailment but, whoever made that gif is a confusing individual.

Who has the very strange moral alignment required to both watch Spaceballs AND also think that "suck" is a word to be censored? 🤣 And if they thought censoring it because of context somehow made it acceptable, then what about "blow" which is used in the very same context!? Lol..

ok... I shouldn't think about it too hard 🤪

When I was testing different handguns, to see which mods were best, I could really have done with being able to carry three pistols on the Dominator. Instead of two rifle-sized weapons and one pistol. Why can't we?

Toilet plunger!? Gasp!

It's a very sophisticated, multi-functional infiltration device. It can unlock any door, hack any computer and can schlup to a victim'd brain pan to extra delta waves and thought processes.

Toilet plunger indeed... tch.
To be fair, it would probably be very good at plunging a toilet. And then afterwards plunging an Earth colony into destruction.
