Alternative Power Management

Many have told me that in the game they use macros to control energy.
Since I play with a gamepad and there are many people playing with consoles (PS4.XBOX1), that is, an offer.

Make alternative energy management.
In the settings of the game, the NORMAL and ALTERNATIVE switch is added.

Normal management is what it used to be.

Alternative:
On the tab for distributing weapons into groups at the bottom, 4 control buttons are added and opposite each button, the number of cells is set when you press this button once.
The so-called presets.

For example :
1. left key - 4 shield, 0 engine, 2 weapons.
2. Up key - 2 shields, 4 engines, 0 weapons.
etc.

Thanks.

I think this is one of those things you should ask the Console to add the feature. See macros is a Third-party software Like Voice attack.

This is not the only point. I think 99 percent of energy management comes down to just 4 presets.

See you can't say 99% when you can only account for your self only. See I don't use macros and I have a PC. I do Miro manage my energy management. It makes me a better combat player or defending my self. Just having 4 presets is just going to get you killed.

I cannot answer for others, but I like the right to choose.

Then what you need to do is talk to Third-party Software Like Voice Attack and Logitech G13 Basically what PC users use for Micro. Note I only name 2 but There other Third-party software that does the same thing.

Just remember Frontier make games. Not Micro Programming two different fields. It like asking a baby sitter to build a computer. Two different fields.

Snip

I think I have a better suggestion that meets your needs and keeps precise control over pips.

In this example I will refer to the default keyboard pip controls (arrow keys) but this would work the same for all custom bindings on gamepad, HOTAS, etc.

1. TAP arrow= change 1 pip, the way it works now.

2. HOLD arrow= enable "clutch" mode.

In clutch mode:

- The chosen capacitor is locked to 4 pips.

- All further TAP inputs only affect the remaining 2 pips.

- Holding any other arrow changes which capacitor is locked to 4 pips.

- Tapping down (reset) once disables clutch mode.

This would greatly simplify power management without needing any macros or presets.

For example, to get 4 pips in SYS and 2 pips in ENG:

HOLD left > TAP up.

To change to 4 WEP, 1 ENG, and 1 SYS:

HOLD right > TAP left.

To reset all capacitors to 2 pips:

DOUBLE-TAP down.

How's that?

I think this would be a neat addition, and is preferable to the OP.

I also think that with the gamepad, I sort of have my own "macros" based on muscle memory. I dont know if time could be saved with presets, as I can already hit set them as fast as possible
