Am I a bad person?

It's a great opportunity for role-play.

Like Ghostbusters 2, you were Vigo and he is like the buzzing of flies to you! :D

I do not think you are a bad person OP, a new Cmdr has got to learn and your lesson will have had more impact than a chat.

The Adder is my favorite early ship in the game - in fact because of this thread I am going to take a leaf out of a previous poster's comment and buy an Adder and do some mucking around in it tonight.

If they was in an Adder then they've probably some idea as to how the comms works. You should've sent them a small text saying "Please stop tickling me". If I remember correctly, such messages survive a rebuy screen.

It would give them either a twinge of embarrassment, or hopefully a laugh when they eventually notice the message.

And before you ask.. yes, I have noticed messages sent to me way way after they've been sent.

For some reason I still feel bad for this.

A while ago I was in a nav beacon cleaning up the scum, when I got a bounty for grazing a t7 with my lasers. There were no cops around so I shrugged my shoulders and continued hunting.

Then my ship exclaimed the fact that I was under attack, and what do you know....a little novice adder picking at my shields. I just sat there staring at this poor guy (who was a CMDR btw) deciding whether or not to disintegrate him for a good minute, after which I boosted through him.

To whoever that adder pilot was, I am sorry, and I hope we get to meet again on equal terms.

Nah - sounded like fair game to me since he was shooting at you. :)
But props to the Adder-guy for the gutsy play!
Hehe!

NECRO.

So On my mission to create the A-courier.

I've had tanked an Adder, and (not knowing you could buy from Deciat) I trundled off to Khun for advanced thrusters.
But not enough power to run the damned things.

So.

I started to strip.
I removed my shields boosters, weapons, and other defences.
Already at Khun I could mod my engines with a grade1 Clean upgrade.
500km/s on a near continual boost.

I had ran 3A powerplant and 2A power distributers, with a grade1 upgrade to the powerplant, and grade 1 engine recharge focused distributer, (and I couldn't shed off my military grade compositing).
but I was about to upgrade the FSD and I wanted to really check it out.

Class 2D shields.
Class 3-Advanced Thrusters
Class 2A powerplant
Class 1D power distributer.
Class 1D life support
Class 3D sensors
Class 2C fuel.
No hull protection.

Stoopidly I had a good roll on a Grade5 (and didn't know it), and got a jump range of 40ly.
Thinking I could do better, I rolled twice more and downgraded to 37.

Frustrated and with not enough materials to boost the engines to a dirty grade 3. I left the station.

Then I spotted one of those Cheeky commanders "testing" his weapons on an Anaconda (player).
And thought I'd get in the way.
The anaconda waked away, and there is me staring down the an FDL at 2km away.
"I can boost REALLY fast" says my brain.
I boost and hit the jump drive.

The FDL opened fire.
The ship barely warned that I was mass locked and the thrusters had malfuctioned, shields gone, hull at 70 percent before it was Game Over.

like 1.7 seconds.

I just lost my cooling hoses, and other commodities, and a downgraded my jump drive from 40ly to 37.

I did want most commanders do.

I burst out laughing and friended this new commander.

So I'm back at Garay's upgraded my shields to
Class 3A shield.
Class 3A power plant.
Class 2A power distributer
Military grade compositying (interestingly enough shedding this mass did nothing to my overal speed, where as the other compontents did).

So now I have a jump-range of 30ly.

I'n my mind, if the ship can't withstand a few shots from an upgraded FDL. There is no point. Massive jump range or not
Even If I can boost really fast. there is no point if a weapon can vapourize me in a two shots.

A courier must be able to run a blockade in my imagination.

I'm going to spend some time upgrading this ship.
Hopefully I'll get some good roles with the FSD again.
and I'll see what a grade3 Dirty Drive upgrade will do for my engines.

I'll keep everyone informed, and have my new found "friend" run some more tests on my Hull :)
