Am I really shipless for 10 hours?!?

I was doing a surface mission to eliminate everyone at a settlement, which caused me to pick up 5 notoriety.

While on foot at the settlement, my ship was destroyed, so I got a shuttle back to a station.

Because of my notoriety, I am locked out of station services. I cannot get to the Shipyard service to chose one of my ships. All I have access to is the shuttle service.

Am I missing something, or am I really waiting around for 10 hours to get back into the cockpit of one of my ships?!?!

I tried that. Had a shuttle bring me 60LY away to an Anarchy system, and I still couldn't see how to get one of my ships. Should I be looking in the terminal, or at the Apex desk?

Ah, maybe I was looking in the wrong place. I was at the shuttle desk. I forgot about Inter Astra. I must admit I don't even know where that is in my home station, but I'm sure it's there somewhere (Coriolis). Another shuttle trip and I'll check it out tomorrow. Thanks for the reply.

What's... the difference? I suppose one of these should say "in space/in a ship"?

Still, afaik there's only one notoriety value (0-10). Or maybe I learned something new today.

Turns out I've been confused about this as well in the past and actually made a thread about it two years go
:D. It gave no answer though. I am very positive I've heard and experience this myself while being active on a streamer's twitch stream.

I might test this later today for science, if I remember to do so. Wanted to take a few missions from my new station anyway.

I concur, on foot noteriety does decay quicker as far as l recall. That is to say gained on foot not in a ship & switching to on foot. Don't work!
What l cannot recall is does on foot noteriety decay quicker once your in your ship?

So I shot up a settlement. Twice. I now have four points of notoriety, gained starting from around 12:15 game time. Let's see when I am clean again.

I also learned that notoriety in the "CMDR" panel on foot isn't updated properly. Otherwise I might have stopped after one or two points. Oops.

Just for the record, I commited my first crime at 12:11:38 game time. It's now 12:54, and my first point of notoriety is gone after I did a relog, sitting at the bar. I'll move to my ship now to see the further development.

It is now 14:50 game time and my notoriety is down to 2. I don't know when it went down, but I just transitioned from on-foot to an Apex, and it was just now updated.

I mistakenly overcharged my... charging tool (?) the other night and killed an NPC instead of knocking them out. Went to an Interstellar factor and waited in the hangar with a notoriety of 1. Ten mins later or just under, and it went away. Hope this helps the investigation.

Sorry for the confusion, my memory is slowly coming back. As you can see, my first notoriety point disappeared rather quickly, the rest seems to indeed take two hours in spite of being gained on foot. Also, I didn't sit in the ship, I did on foot missions while waiting for the notoriety to decay.

I think this is because notoriety is fractional on foot, but the UI doesn't display that? As in, not one point per kill like ships, put one point per six on foot murders or something. I had killed 35 NPCs on my killing spree.

So the first point decaying quickly isn't really a "whole" point, but a fraction of it, and as such it decays faster? Something like that. Anyway, it is weird.
