Course that begs the question.
Does raising noteriety in a ship then going on foot and being aloof or just raising hell in planetary anarchy base, make any difference? I suspect not.

Turns out I've been confused about this as well in the past and actually made a thread about it two years go
. It gave no answer though. I am very positive I've heard and experience this myself while being active on a streamer's twitch stream.

I might test this later today for science, if I remember to do so. Wanted to take a few missions from my new station anyway.

Alternatively :
If you have horizons installed, do not go through the rebuy when you get greased. exit to menu and then quit to desktop. Launch horizons and the game will tell you that it needs to move you to a new location. Click yes. You will spawn in your ship at a detention facility. Fly out of the system, log to desktop, relog into oddity and then continue on.

This allows you to skip the truly ridiculous apex taxi ride portion of your punishment for being killed.
