Am I the only one that has issues with reading the CAPTCHA for the store login?

As I'm no longer a young man and blame myself for failings like being unable to read the captcha this thread makes me happy. Yes, I have some issues with it, yes, it makes me sweary and yes one keyboard suffered a horrific death because of captcha though that wasn't the Frontier one.

Why is this even a thing? Why a captcha upon login? I understand that it may be necessary for account creation, but I don't even know a single site where you always need a captcha for every login. Like, Google requires one only after multiple failed login attempts, but not right from the start.

I absolutely hate the store captcha. It usually takes me at least three times before I manage to get it right. If they feel they need a captcha there, they should really use Google's reCaptcha system, it's by far the most user-friendly I've encountered, and it's really easy to implement.

I agree there - If I log in "cold" to my account. However, IIRC I can be in Outfitting, hit the Purchase from store option in Livery, and then get straight into what I want to buy, and use Paypal to check out. No Captcha. At least that is what I recall recently when I bought my nameplates.

I'm pretty sure that uses the Steam store rather than the direct Frontier store, which is why it works so much better/

It was 4 letters for me also. Normally I hate capt has, right down to their stupid name. I often get them wrong, wonder what that says about my humanity and begin having an internal rant to myself.

Edit: Captain Has? Who's he??

I don't think I struggle to work out the captchas but it always seems to take 2 or 3 attempts before I can log in.

Maybe I'm just being arrogant but it always seems like they're easy to read so I can only assume that the app-thing, itself, isn't working properly.

I'm guessing it's something wrong with the store captcha.
It being hard to read, I usually take time to make sure it is correct.
But still it often comes up as wrong.
