Am I the only person who is utterly unenthused right now about a generic FPS being shoehorned into my spaceship game?

I think it odd that this thread continues - and the usual aspersions of "White Knights" being responsible for it being 72 pages long - nothing at all to do with the need to berate the developer.

I bought Cyberpunk 2077 for £50 pre-ordered... Stopped playing it after around 30 hours as it was not the game it was made out to be, in my opinion.

Anyone wanna guess how many posts I've made on that game's forum berating the developers?

Indeed, if you avoided the hype and watched some game play videos, you could see what you were really getting at launch. You could and I did. And it's been regularly updated for free since launch. Are you sure you really want to run with this comparison?
Why do you ask me? You're the one comparing. I just gave you a name of a game conforming to your arbitrary specs.

If you think you got from them at launch what was promised, you're essentially saying the same thing about NMS, as you did in your previous post about ED.
So I rest my case :)

Im not sure i get what you're saying, what could i be missing?

If someone points out something which doesn't necessarily chime with your world view, that doesn't make them a "white knight" or any other arbitrary label you may choose. That's not a fair reflection of reality. These kinds of over-simplifications are unhelpful to the discussion, IMO.

It's almost like sane, normal people simply move on to other games or other things they actually enjoy, as they usually have much better things to do in life other than spending years and years whining and moaning every single day in the forums of the games they didn't like...

Yes, that's obviously what frontier are doing, min maxing the MVP.. but if we accept that the only option is to stop caring.
frontier are looking at their dollar profits and metrics and balancing how much they spend on development, of course spending the least because it would be a waste for them otherwise.

If you’re talking about EDO, then I wouldn’t say that fits. They claim production staffing has averaged 100~ devs, peaking at 140. That’s not 'spending the least'.

IMO that’s decent investment in ED along-term (even if we don’t see the benefits of it until it drops + have to pay once more). It’s not MVP production at any rate ;)

They remind me of these guys:

Not insane, but not really making the best use of their time :)

So how do you explain posts like the one above this one? There's no other word for it, sorry.

It is the "stating with authority" the failings of a product that has yet to be shown to players as an alpha that is interesting...

Even more interesting of how many millions of POUNDS (£) Frontier have spent developing Odyssey... (one day the masses will become educated that the UK doesn't use $, €, yen, bart or any other currency...)

well, I watched a 4.40 hours long review of Cyperpunk 2077 lately, which basically dissected the game in a fair way - still, it isn't what we expected.
