I have been using an AMD R9 290X for some time now.
I have noticed that whne in the Commodities screen the fan start cranking up to its max setting (damn loud), as soon as I pop into the Galaxy map it settles down again (Barely Audible).
I have a very well ventilated gaming rig and three of these GFX cards and all do the same thing. Even when moving the switch on the top of the card to either direction seems to make no difference.
I have tried it with a Nvidia GTX 970 (Gigabyte) and it seemed to have a stable fan.
Flying around space its about midrange and then entering a port its starts cranking up.
I am starrting to wonder if there is something amis with the way ED is handling the AMD GPU drivers and driving the GPU too hard.
I am using a relatively non taxing resolution of 1920x1080.
I am using the latetest Omega driver, but noticed it with earlier drivers as well.
Is anyone else noticing this with any GFX card, if so what make model.
Mine are Gigabyte Windforce R9 290X OC 4Gb.
