An interview with one of Elite Dangerous' most hated

not going to read the article and have never heard of this commander before this thread ... so obviously not that hated.

Moving on ....

It's the place you have the mission for... Once you finally figure out how to jump from one system to another you'll be there, that is of course provided you've figured out how to take off yet? :D

Sounds like the perfect qualification for the job.
I wonder though what'll happen if this Overlord chap ever leaves the safety of Eravate. I mean, if he's as hated as he claims, then he'll be attacked everywhere and spend more time logging back in (after pulling his connection) than he will jumping.

The poor chap is hated? Oh dear, that's not very ice is it! I like many others am left wondering who this 'person' is and to be honest, I've never been back to the starter systems since I was first able to fly... Perhaps the OP needs to re-take the training mission to also learn to jump out of a system.

There's a little hint in the above for you Ian... Training missions, you'll find them on the main menu! :D

I went back a few weeks ago in a cobra. Trevithic is rather a long way out! I mean, not Hutton far, but still. It must be a full time job taking a combat 'vette out there every day just to find a fight you can win. I pity the person who needs to do this... If I was that pitiful an excuse for a combat pilot, I certainly wouldn't want to be interviewed about it or draw attention to myself.
Now that HP and GF have heard of him, I can imagine the rest of his time in game being rather miserable... Though of course the challenge of a few real fighters like that may help him improve, so long as he doesn't keep logging that is.

hmm I read a lot of envy here ;)
OP found a purpose, I suppose, a better one than mine anyway. He at least made the news or kinda news. Most of us have not. We are just faceless anonymous flecks being there and not being there. If this is convoluted its because I am not quite sober :) Stuff in this game does not make sense if you are sober and thoughtful. So its best not to be. Sober. FD made a game for drunkards, a game for CMDR's living in the now, with nothing to care for tomorrows bright shining unreal light of sanity. Sanity does not exist in Elite. Elite is like a movie put together randomly with no interconnections to tie it together.
Op has tied it together, it makes sense to him. That's cool. For him. For the rest of us there is nothing; ships , credits, reputation, all are just excisting in the NOW of the moment, it does not matter tomorrow or ever.
Cogito ergo sum. Or maybe ergo sum cogito.
People are funny, CMDR's are funny, but imagining a game with a 10 year life span, with the consequences ( Yes just said that ) of Battlefield 4 is laughable at best and completely wrong at worst.
Fd expects us to use more time in creating a Hollo-Me than in caring for who we are in game? Yes they do...Keeping up appearances, you know. I can put on lipstick, but I am still a pig ;)
Many CMDR's in this game has thousands of hours in it, devoted to their character, but why? This is where E D lacks.
I am failing and I am probably not alone, I have my time in it more than 3000 hours, invested in..... nothing? Yes I did get my 150 € worth of game, many times over, and I still rejoice in piloting my Python, Anaconda, FAS or what ever, I still marvel at the vastness of the universe.... But it is not enough.
I guess Op realised these things a long time ago, thumbs up to him, he is more clever than me. He has made his space for himself.

Cheers Cmdr's

Not so sure about that Comrade Commander.

Firstly, yeah, you're rambling. Might I suggest a big glass of water and a lie down.

Secondly, sure he's found his place, his role in the galaxy. But it's not a role to be proud of, nor that anyone would envy either, tbh. There's not a single one of us who couldn't do what he does, but meh... I don't know about you but I'd feel dirty. Picking on newbies and combat logging? No thanks. I may not have much self respect nor pride, but I have way too much for that sort of nonsense.

If there's one thing this thread will accomplish, it's getting his name on pretty much every PvP group's KoS list (not that I agree with those either but that's for another thread), and ensure he gets some of the same sort of fun he's been apparently providing in Eravate. I say apparently since as I said, I was there a week or so ago in my old Cobra and didn't see hide nor hair. Of course that might be because a Cobra Mk III is a bit much for him, but more likely that he'd combat logged against a Sidewinder.

Anyway Comrade, it's rather insulting to claim anyone would be envious of this person. Just because you've not found a place after 3000 hours doesn't make the same true for the rest of us.

Fly safe ... o7

You fly an adder? Then come to Eravate, and I'll tell you who I am in person.

How I imagine you after typing that response.

+Rep for typing while drinking CMDR! Always enjoy your posts even if we are sometimes at opposite ends of the debate. ;)

Ye gods.. 15 pages.. Why not just DFTT? Or in this case, DFTC (Don't feed the cheat - a serial clogger)

You know this place... We treat trolls and cheats as if they were slugs, and throw vast quantities of salt around.
Or it could be vampires I guess. Seal clubbers are a bit leech-like.

I doubt it will ever change.
