Has no one else ever seen this then? It was certainly a new one to me, and I seem to encounter weirdness on a semi-regular basis lol.
We did have a bit of rubber-banding when myself and my wing mate were teamed up earlier, but he'd not long logged off when I had this occurrence, so I was alone in the group.
It does amaze me how different our two perspectives get at times in this game. I mean, it's just the two of us in the private group most of the time. Last night during combat, from my perspective, me boosted right into the rear of my ship knocking me flying and taking a chunk out of my shield. Yet, from his perspective, he boosted past cleanly with not a scratch on his shields. Considering I was in a well-shielded Type 10, and he in a lightly shielded Mamba, well, he should have come off worse in that encounter. Many times he's said I'd bumped him, or gotten in his LoS on a target when I'm no where near. Indeed, he said the latter the other night, yet I could see him clearly through my canopy and I was out of his LoS entirely. The game is just getting things wrong. A lot.
With game sync errors like this happening all the darn time, these little quirks rarely surprise me when I'm playing in the group. If that SLF had just vanished, I'd have assumed it'd just epically rubber banded out of range. However, the addition of audio and visual effects that usually accompany FSD engagement along with its disappearance was bloody weird.
Note: my wing mate did have quite a poor connection, due to using Power Line adaptors. However, he says he's improved things now and his ping is much lower. So, that did explain many of the issues when we team up, but it's still bad despite his efforts. I have teamed up with others in the Private Group - though they're more visitors then regular members - and I've not really noticed any issues at all. I've not teamed up with any of those guys recently though.
Scoob.
