Hello Frontier!

I hope that you are all well! I have most likely the oddest request/inquiry you might have had so far, don’t worry I’m not about to start complaining about aquatics etc! 🙂

I have a 10 year old autistic son who loves the JP/JW worlds, he loved operation genesis and pretty much everything JP/JW related. However for the last 8 months I have been trying to get him into JWE with no luck, at first I put it down to maybe he doesn’t like it, but he would turn it off and go back to Operation Genesis....if you have any experience with autism it can sometimes take months to find out what the problem is 😞

He would spend about 20 minutes on it then have a meltdown for what appeared to be no reason, he marvels at the graphics and loves it, then bam, a huge meltdown and shuts people out.

After months of trying to find out I eventually found out it’s because he couldn’t make it symmetrical, he could build the enclosure symmetrical but couldn’t get the viewing platforms etc in the same spots opposite. Due to his autism he couldn’t communicate that frustration as part of his autism is a very high ocd.

So my question is (sorry for the long winded details) is there a possibility there will ever be an update for either a grid system or some kind of assistance to get them in line?

I know I’m asking the random stuff here haha

Man this thread is great. This bugs me the hell out as well. I know it's a small thing, but I'm very organized and it hurts my eye, when stuff aren't alligned.

I don't know if I have autism, but I do feel what you are saying. Yes, please, Frontier. GIVE US AN UPDATE FIXING THIS STUFF!

I think I tried to post something like this a while back but hadn't any success explaining myself. Totally agree with this quality of life improvement!! Please, Frontier, do it for the kid :)

Also, now we're at ti, having the viewing areas overlaping terrain while building OR adding the ability to place buildings on map mode would also be really cool.

Great idea! Helps when planning on the bigger maps, and given Frontier are developing the game for a few years and there will be more choices etc so harder to fit everything in, this would be very helpful. 5*

As long as it's an optional feature, it's a very good decision. I've been annoyed with games in the past where the grid system is too locked in, but having the option to turn it on would be pretty useful. I don't always build fences or pathing straight, but I'd really prefer to be able to snap buildings, for example.

As a fellow ND person, I've been bugged by that too, especially in the new islands, where all of the pre-built buildings are ever so slightly off true. It seems almost like the Dev version of the building tools offers more angular precision then the stock ones too, because try as I might I can't quite match my own buildings to their alignments.
