Anaconda Explorer Build

My Annie still has 80 ly jump range, cos out where I am, stars are scant and a long way apart. I tend to explore ahead, then jump my carrier to me. Out that far, I have no need for any of the modules that you may require within the bubble. That's just the way I do it, though. To each their own.

You don't need a jumpaconda anymore with a carrier escort. I converted my conda back into a gunboat missile toting plus mining with lasers and subsurface etc. Even medium shields. My conda did jump 80ly+ now it only jumps 52ly. But...strong versatile and perfect for exploring WITH carrier just a few jumps away as a hub.
Gone are the days of streaking across the galaxy fast as mapping...or honking. Yeah you can do that if u wanna cover vast distances quickly...But why? Unless you've somewhere special to go I guess.
But bussing around in a gunboat miner is how lm exploring...with carrier nearby.
Just my slant on things

Why have a Jumpaconda? Because I have no interest in buying a 5B credit carrier, paying for the upkeep, nor dealing with the Administration. The Jumpaconda can also travel far faster.

Ah true.. travels faster. And you fly by 100s of systems as yet unmapped.
Now that style of exploring has it's uses.
Blanket exploration is a different animal. And one I enjoy. Might only travel 5000ly in 6 mths but...I'd have scanned n mapped everything almost....within those 5000 ly. Years perhaps yup.
I'm in no rush.
Certainly once odyssey drops I'll be touching down alone on planets never even discovered much less frequented by other commanders mission running on foot in the bubble.
Spose it boils down to how you wana play.

Correct, it does. I do not map every system I jump into, I have stricter criteria for use of my time. I know what I am interested in and what type of searching to do for it... a carrier will not help.

Can a carrier assist if you wish to camp an area for a while, sure I suppose. Or you can use a DSSA carrier deployed. Or rely on your own resources. All ways are valid.

But there really is only one time you MUST use a carrier, exploration on the absolute edge of the galaxy.

Wouldn't it be great if you could plant a flag on a new planet, creating a POI with your CMDR's details on it?
