Anaconda Mk.2 concept

The big three looks great beside anaconda. Anaconda looks like a ship built from scrap. What I came out is nerf the anaconda and make anaconda Mk.2. make Mk.2 version be in the big three. The anaconda must have better smoother design. Including the wires in the cockpit. Increase one class 8 optional, more advanced hard points doors. Not bulky bottom.

Conda is the queen of DPS, Hull tanking, exploration and bulk passenger missions.

It only loses at cargo capacity and maximum shield strenght... and is exactly ONE second slower in a full 360 than the Corvette if you give both of them god engineered engines.
This is ship is by far among the best of the best and looks amazingly good.

"A smooth upper touch with a bulky belly, just like the look of the general Elite player." - someone from a review video.

Especially ship kits greatly enhance this beast.
Delacy just needs a few cable binders and we're good.

You do realize that the Anaconda IS built from scrap?

They're cobbled together from the wreckage of countless Cobra 3's.

But they do have a very nice damage model that all the rest of the ships really need.

Facebook angles, the ship. All the pictures you see some sexy looking ship, so you go and buy it only to realize all you got was a kite with a shoebox strapped to the bottom. Guess that explains the low hull mass. It's all styrofoam and holograms.

And I quote:

Ugh, why does everyone always ask for "Ship name mk II".

I want an entirely new ship. Lets not use Dev time to make a mk II and instead get something original. How about a Saud Kruger luxury explorer with range and internals to rival the Anaconda with class 1 slots for scanners and decent turn rates/speed yet minimal weaponry. Something that will cruise the galaxy in style without being limited. Orca is ok at a pinch but with all the new modules we need something a touch bigger..

I actually like the looks of the Anaconda, I think it's one of the best designed ships in the game. I've always assumed the basic design cue for the overall hull shape was an offshore powerboat, with an obvious compromise then having to be made to provide for a few hundred tons of cargo storage and internal modules.

'It's ugly, so make a new one!' No thanks, we don't need ANOTHER credit sink right now.
It would be nice if they cleaned up the cockpit though, no way those exposed wires passed inspection. Heck, clean up ALL the cockpits that have exposed wires while they're at it.

The Anaconda is a trade ship with a nice looking top lid to obscure the ugly bottom half. Top half is a ship, the bottom half is a freight container. Who cares what it looks like, if you want to get somewhere the quickest, then the Anaconda is your first ship of choice due to its jump range.

The only thing the Anaconda needs is a nerf to its jump range and a nerf to its cargo and passenger capacity.

And yeah, it is the ugliest ship in the game IMO; I agree with you there.

Yeah, only thing the 'Conda needs to balance it is to swap its maneuverability with that of the Cutter or Type 9. No more letting 'Conda pilots have their cake and eat it too, unless we're gonna bring back the guillotine for 'em, anyway. Then sure, leave it alone.

This is an important point. The Conda may or may not be ugly, but it is the most completely developed ship in the game.
It may not be the best in every role but it is the benchmark to which the utility of almost any other ship is compared.

My explorer Anaconda looks pretty good to me...

That's the main thing I like about the Annie.

The Cutter is the USS Enterprise.
The Corvette is Battlestar Galactica.

The Annie, OTOH, is more like Serenity.
It's a big ol' hunk of obsolete metal (and pixie dust) which refuses to die.

Ha, I say invent an even bigger class of FSD and give it to the conda so that the corvette tankers can't complain about logical inconsistencies in fantasy game mechanics.

...and looks amazingly good.

That's highly debatable. In fact only reason I don't buy one is because of its horrendous look. Might as well give a it a dirigible/balloon ship kit and make it into a steam punk themed spaceship. "Look at me guys am flying a space boat!"

If Lakon were to make a ship with exactly the same stats I'd buy, just based on all lakon ships looking awesome.
