Anaconda Probably The Best Ship In Elite

fkhjKzl.jpg

Had a Anaconda now for about a month and loving it. OK it turns like a pregnant cow but made 700m since I sat there debating whether to spend 145m on her. At the time I only had 250m and a python. Then thought do I trade in my python but decided no I'll keep both and risk a few runs with no insurance! So hit yes, upgraded fsd at same time left me with just under 9m. First launch I hit the letter box and so thought better get docking computer next dock. So headed to sothis/ceos. Now I'm sitting on 700m 5 ships totaling 1.1 billion in combined assets. Best move I've made. What's more I've attained trade elite status in her so well chuffed. Now I'm off doing minor stuff visiting engineers, getting minor achievements like visiting Sol, and binary system. Next week planning on going to sag a and back (off for week) before I start grinding profit again.

For the love of Anna [heart] LoL

Owned one for a short time and sold it. Not my cup of tea, I like medium landing pads. That being said after reading this, I'll buy another and giver her hell.

Best is always relative.
It depends on what you want to do, but having said that...

The Anaconda is a great ship!
I took it out of the garage and dusted it off a few weeks ago and upgraded it for heavy combat and I am surprised at it's incredible combat prowess.
I am Elite so I get a lot of Elite NPC after me and being in the Anaconda makes life a lot easier.
Only elite npc Anaconda's and larger ships can be a threat.
Any npc smaller than that does not even have a single chance in hell to get through my shields ever, not even if they are the elitest among the elite.
The Anaconda is a beast.

I do love my Python for it's ability to go and dock anywhere it wants, but as far as heavy combat is concerned the Anaconda is a much safer ship to be in.
It is the great versatile all rounder among the big ships.

Annie is a great ship, heavily outclassed by the cutter at hauling though. It can lug 792t if you go all-out with racks, or if you're slightly more sensible and use a shield, up to 724t. Which is nearly twice what an equivalently shielded annie can carry.

Since I started this game the Anaconda has been my ultimate goal. Just about have enough saved up to get the Python stepping stone.

That's what I did, do some long haul missions from sothis/ceos and soon you'll have enough for a conda! I've been running with no weapons and only low class Shields for extra range. Works a treat, if interdicted just boost jump away. If I had a bumper sticker in my conda it would be a finger [up] but the middle one lol

They never really appealed to me but might give one a spin. :)

No at first I was not sold on Conda, mainly the price 140m credits is very high. But then you workout what you can make hauling, and it's still a multiroll ship that can defend itself competently when needed!

Gonna get some platinum (all I need to upgrade to level 5 fsd at farseaer engineering!) then I'll fit it our for a trip too the big black!

All I can say is "Yup"

All the other big ships are too niche oriented whilst the Annie does it all. The Cutter is a bigger trader, the Corvette is a better Pew ship but the huge amount and sizes of the internals... not to mention hardpoints and a jump range to make the Asp fanbois that little bit green makes the Annie a tad more versatile.

Umm pretty sure you don't need Platinum for Grade 5 FSD.....not the range mod anyways. You need Magnetic Emitter Coils.

The Conda is a nice ship and yes, great money maker but once you're in the >1 billion assets range money stops mattering and then it becomes more about which ship you like flying more instead of which ship makes more money and for me, that's the Python over the Conda. Actually, I wish I could fly my FDL all the time but it's just not practical.

Not a big fan of the 'Conda for combat. I need something small and agile.

Great for exploration, though. That's what I use mine for.

No!

By the Maker no!

No! No, no, noooooooooooo!!!

The best ship is the Hauler! Closely followed by the Keelback.

No but I need platinum for grade 2, I have everything else.

Yeah when I got my python it was a toss up between that and fdl, range won out I'm afraid. Now it's about what I like to fly, conda is my favorite at moment due to what I'm planning. When I get back from the core I might try the fdl as a bounty hunter.

Forget that was thinking of power plant upgrade I was planning. Need FSD more now

Great ship, I love mine since it is so versatile like you expect from a DeLacy ship. I like to consider it my flagship even though I own a Cutter.

With fully upgraded frame shift via engineers, you can get a jump range past 30ly with the conda. Its pretty nice for exploration ;) and pretty much everything else

You can get it up to 50 LY with engineers - that's what I'm sitting at now, and I'm still rocking a shield and some bits.
