Anaconda UI is unreadable when star lights it up

When a bright star is lighting up the Anaconda interior various numbers and text is very difficult to read, just as the image shows. I can't be the only one with this issue, right? I'm asking because I'm slightly near-sighted. Image is compressed making it even harder to read though

Fairly certain that you can change the UI lighting under the functions tab. Not sure if it'll help, but it's worth a try.

You can change the interface brightness under functions, yes. This seems like something you'll be fiddling with a lot if you don't like it too bright when there's no sunlight though.

Ah yeah changing the brightness does help a bit. But it's still hard to read, would be nice if it had some backdrop so it's easier to read

What the Anaconda needs is one of these...

Try changing your hud to blue.

@ Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\FORC-FDEV-(uniquesuffix)\GraphicsConfiguration.xml
Under the GuiColor node, change the number values to this:
Code:
<MatrixRed> 0, 0, 1 </MatrixRed>
<MatrixGreen> 0, 1, 0 </MatrixGreen>
<MatrixBlue> 1, 0, 0 </MatrixBlue>

Use that to customize your own if you want.

I have my Anaconda set to that blue and it's more readable for me. They fixed the galaxy map being affected by the color change so it works really well now. Friendlies are still green, hostiles are still red.

I'd love to have green or blue, but that doesn't work with EliteOCR from what I've read, which I use quite a lot to establish trade routes

Does everyone's Anaconda have this weird blue ellipse (same colour as the logo above the radar), superimposed over the radar, but not positioned correctly? It bugs me.

You could set a macro for light and dark setting and bind that to a joystick button/voice command/game keyboard button/mouse button (depending what kind of programmable device you have). That way a switch would be fairly instant.

You could also rotate your ship. I can't think of a single reason why would you want to keep a specific angle towards the star for an extended period of time.

Scooping. There you want the sun above you for best visbility of the corona limit during surfing. And it's exactly there that you need to read the UI (the temperatiure).
(However in that situation it's not a problem particular to the Anaconda. All craft have that issue)

Well, yeah you can rotate your ship sometimes. But when jumping between systems it's easier to have the canopy towards the star your going around to get line-of-sight with the next system. Same applies to approaching stations or being in a nav beacon, always facing canopy away from the star can be annoying

Python has the same trouble but not as bad. I have to rotate ship at times to get rid of glare.

I think it's to do with the colour of the interior. As the Anaconda's interior is very bright it makes it harder to read than most ships. Not sure how it is with Imperial Clipper as that also has a white interior

I usually have the star to the side for that exact reason, but then again, I use a twist stick for precise yaw control so its easy for me. Same with the line of sight when jumping to the next star.

Since this is something that can't really be fixed without drastically changing the materials (and thus the look) inside the cockpit so that they're less reflective, my advice would be to either use the yaw and orbit the star when it's on your left or right side, or wait until the walking in ships is introduced and then buy your avatar a nice pair of shades. :p
