Ahhh rgr thanks for that. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. CheersSome settlements in anarchies are controlled by factions that aren't anarchies (Just as some settlements in non-anarchy systems may be controlled by anarchies.). You can check the settlement's ownership in the System Map or in your HUD display while it analyzes the environment.
Is there an easy way to tell what governance the current settlement has once you arrive on foot? Other than going to the system map then finding your planet and selecting the settlement that you're on then selecting the info panel? Because that's how I currently do it and it seems pretty inefficient.

Another thing is to search on Inara by filtering only by Surface Settlements (Odyssey) option in Station Type, leaving System Govt. as Any, and then Anarchy on "Station Owner Properties > Government".Is there an easy way to tell what governance the current settlement has once you arrive on foot? At least for now. Players keep genociding Anarchy settlements, there eventually won't be any Anarchy-controlled locations anymore. That'll make finding those smear campaigns a trifle harder to find.Another thing is to search on Inara by filtering only by Surface Settlements (Odyssey) option in Station Type, leaving System Govt. as Any, and then Anarchy on "Station Owner Properties > Government".
This should tell you exactly where to find lots of genocidable settlements
Nitpick 'cause I see this come up a lot in these threads:Faction state is important, not system state. Always check which faction is the owner of settlement.
Well, in Horizons, if you head to a surface installation then usually as soon as you enter glide the bottom left of the HUD will tell you who the owner of the installation is. This isn't consistent with Odyssey, which shows the system controller regardless of local jurisdiction. This is exactly the way that stations, outposts, installations and bases have always worked.
If they're at 1%, they're not going anywhere. It's not like you can hurt their influence more and if they're a local faction they won't retreat, and they can't get into a war to lose the last asset unless someone pumps them up to 7% and matches inf with another faction.I am in a system where there is one Anarchy faction with 1% of influence and only one tiny drilling settlement.
Now that we gain notoriety and the whole C&P system being what it is, this settlement is my target for anything illegal.
I am wondering how long would it take until they pack their bags and leave for good.
This is very helpful thank you. Should be in it’s on post and pinned to the topAnother thing is to search on Inara by filtering only by Surface Settlements (Odyssey) option in Station Type, leaving System Govt. as Any, and then Anarchy on "Station Owner Properties > Government".
