Basic sidewinders and beam lasers at dawn?
I guess much of the mechanic would be the same in a decent pvp, fixed beams would help with targeting, and little replacement cost if someone gets a bit feisty

Something I learnt tonight in the war zone:

Its always important to leave about a 1 km distance from your lead plane if you're the wingman, to spot for attacks.
If both planes are at a knife fights distance from a target you leave both of you open from hits from the rear. Maybe I'm stating the obvious here, thought i'd just mention it.
Also I know some people were mentioning this on Teamspeak the other night but:

Gentlemen, matters with the Federales in Guan Yun appear have been settled, but fighting continues. The Empire is now in control of Wylie dock, thanks to your sustained efforts over the last few days.

PS - Very good tip about wing man separation +1 Rep - DaMorgs and I ought to try that next time we fly combat, rather than exercising each other's shields, lol.

Well done all! Onwards and upwards! Finally a foothold in Guan Yun a long term goal for Angeli Imperial.
Whilst working on Guan Yun please take it slowly for the next 3 days, we will be in civil war cooldown until Tuesday so cannot enter another war. If CMDRs push our influence past that of the controlling faction we will have to wait until we reach 70% for a war so please slow down when we get close to becoming the strongest faction

Vyv will atest to me setting a new record for worlds shortest career as a trader. Bought a type 6 jumped a grand total of 9 jumps to make 40k credits. promptly sold said type-6, and now sitting in a B grade Viper. Made more credits, in a shorter period of time using the viper. We both then went and did a short hunting session in a RES site. Got a few average kills, then logged off for the night.

Yep, trading can be extremely profitable provided you have the starting capital to fill your hold - otherwise it's just frustrating (imho).
However, the risk involved in losing a lean fighter is generally much less than risking losing a t6 with 700k worth of goods (which you can carry to make a ~100k profit).
That, and being in a decent dogfight is just plan fun!

I'm expecting you to buy a T-6, launch, fly out of the station, realise you forgot how horrible a T-6 is to fly, turn around, dock, trade it back in for another Viper.
Atleast I got the 2,000cr escort bond.
LOL mine was worse, ended up 40K short after trying trading, so I went bounty hunting instead.

With the Warzones in Guan Yan seemingly empty, those that have leave owing, might I suggest HIP 16365 3
An Imperial Garden world, it is orbit as a binary pair around 16365 2, also a Garden world but run by HIP 16365 & Co as a Resort world.
Stay in the Imperial Station and take one of the twice daily planetary shuttles down the the resort world.
