Animal talk point not near enough species being educated?

I've set up three water habitats with a walkway going over them for guests to view the animals from above. I have an animal talk point above each, but the only one that is working is the one for the otters. The talk points for the saltwater crocs and gharials are giving me a message that they are misplaced and need to be by the habitat with the relevant species. I have them near education boards that have the species I've selected indicated (and the habitat species was the first choice for each), so I'm not sure why the talk points are not working for 2/3 of these habitats. The set up is exactly the same for the otters, but I've got no issue with their talk point. All three are situated so food can be thrown down into the habitat.
