I cannot speak for anyone on this forum, but it seems such a shame that this official Lore & RP forum (the first place people will come to) is being abandoned and recruited from in order to further fragment the RP Community. I have looked at your hub and I will be the first to say it looks pretty good, it's membership is increasing daily too, however, as a mod, cannot rootstrat create sub-forums as and when needed? With the effort put into your new hub could this not have been used to inject some life into this forum? It's in serious need of some love.

Hello Malandark
Whilst I completely respect your opinion, I cannot disagree with your view enough. Our goal is not to fragment the RP community, is to unite it. Over the past month or so, we have put in a massive amount of time and energy (and a bit of money) into providing the RP community with the tools required to connect both in the game and out and we've been responsible for bringing many people together. A lot of people using the hub have already met up in the game to RP and we're in the process of designating an unofficial system for those who wish to be closer to other RP'ers.
Unfortunately whilst the official FD single linear multi category forum is a good starting place for new players, it's completely inefficient when it comes to growing and nurturing a RP community . What we have created is a role player hub that strongly encourages player creativity and role play where players have a voice and their characters have a solid identity. If a player posts a character bio, it wont get buried to the depths by generic posts like it does here. There is a dedicated pilots log section which is filling up with some great content. Again, their logs won't sink to page 86 if no one posts in them.
Right now we have Forum RP taking place in fictional locations. It's easy to follow and anyone can jump in because it's neatly displayed and has its own section on our forums. This evening, a group will be going out on a police patrol in open play and in character.
I agree with you on one point. If the official forums were set out in such a way to encourage role play, and there was enthusiastic RP moderators who had the powers to do what we're doing over at the roleplayers hub, then yes, we wouldn't have set it up in the first place. Sadly they are not so we took the initiative.
I've been involved in running RP communities for as long as I remember. Once thing I know for sure is that role players need and love to be creative, tell stories, create fiction and feel part of a community. This is what we are providing and we're doing it because we love RP and we want to do all we can to help RP flourish in ED.
Since creating the Role Players Hub, The feedback has been really positive among those using it.
Hopefully Malandark, I have demonstrated that our goal is 100% to bring the RP community together. That won't happen on a single page forum, so I would encourage you to head on over and get involved. The more enthusiastic roleplayers we have connecting, the better it will be for the RP community as a whole. We're not a club or group. No one dictates what happens or sets rules. It is a free tool for all to use.
